Happy Halloween!

Today, sweet baby Luke was blessed by his daddy and we were all blessed to be a part of his special day. We went to their sacrament meeting in the morning and then over to Chase and Jacque's for the afternoon.

We went and trick or treated at Grandma and Grandpa's and Ashton was not a happy camper because we had just woken him from a nap at home and he was still tired. He has had a BUSY weekend. He was stuck on mommy and wouldn't put his costume on. Still fun to go see and visit with them and Travis and Miriam were there too!
We then were at Grammy's for the night, we ate the traditional chili and cornbread and what a fun night it was!!!

Soph and I took our kids just on our street trick or treating and it is always just so much fun running from house to house.

Happy Halloween!

What a day!

Started early! Sierra had a Pumpkin Meet. Sierra and I had to be at the COC pool between 7:30 and 8 am. We hustled and made it. This was Sierra's first meet as a COC Super Dolphin and she was nervous (as was I but she didn't know it!:))
Her first swim was 50 yard backstroke. She got 2nd place in her heat...

that's her in the middle...

Uncle Brett recorded and put her race on youtube...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr_VVydYXVw
she won her first pumpkin!

Next she swam 50 yard breaststroke...she is on the far right.

She had turned around before the other girls even got to the other side, way to go!!! She got first in her heat...

and won another pumpkin!

Then she swam 50 yard freestyle, she is on the left...

She got first in her heat...

Once again Uncle Brett is Sierra's hero and put this race on youtube too!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p6rLOb5yrY
and won ANOTHER pumpkin, that's 3 pumpkins! She was so EXCITED and THRILLED!!!

each time she won they gave her a slip of paper to write her name on and put in a raffle to win a GIANT pumpkin. When we were packing up our stuff a man said in the microphone, "is Sierra Young here?" Me and Sierra both said "YES!" He said, "Sierra if your here you just won a giant pumpkin!" OH MAN!!! Now she is so EXCITED she just started running to make sure they knew that she was still here. We drove our car around and 2 boys carried her pumpkin out and put it in our car. Everyone was at Grammy's so she called over there and announced that she just won the giant pumpkin and they all screamed. SHE LOVED IT!!! She had so many family members come and support her and she loved that too. Grammy came, Uncle Brett, Aunt Brenna, Aunt Briana, Aunt Sophi with her boys and Uncle Norris. Thanks guys!!!!

Grammy cut it open...while Brenna and Sierra were deciding on a face.

Grampy got out the crowbar because we couldn't get the top off. :)

Sierra loved comparing the seed size to a normal size pumpkin seed.

Aunt Brenna helped her cut out a face.

Meanwhile Ashton was off with his cousin's and Uncle's to go ride 4 wheeler's and shoot guns, yep big boy stuff! He LOVED it!!!
Then it was off to her Cupcake Class at Clarice's.

She LOVED every minute!

When Ashton got home he drew on his face and Aunt Briana helped him carve his pumpkin.

Me, I just squeeze babies all.day.long!

Halloween Festivities!

The Festivities began with parties at school. Sierra was originally going for a zombie but she didn't want to be called a zombie, it scared her and sounded to scary, so she is a corpse girl or dead girl. :) She made her costume. She cut an old witch costume up.
Ashton is a knight in shining armor. :)

Ashton with his teacher, Mrs. Curtis

The Parade

Sierra was waving...

oh wait and then pause for a picture...

pause for another picture, she was in her element! :)

Ashton with his friend, Ashton

Aunt Briana came into town so we got to enjoy their company and then off to our Trunk or Treat.

Sierra is so funny, she wants to decorate our trunk next year and pass out candy because she felt like she was to old for this.

Came home and watched Scared Shrekless and Charlie Brown Halloween and ate candy while I made Pumpkin Bread and daddy listened to the Hart football game.

Ashton's Day with Mommy!

Sierra got her day with Mommy at Disneyland and I had a free child's ticket to Legoland so it was Ashton's turn. Last night we got packed up and loaded up, kissed daddy goodbye and headed to the OC to stay with my sister. We arrived and were greeted with pure excitement from some pretty cute little boy's. We played and then we brushed teeth, got tucked in blankets on the floor and then I (mommy and auntie) told not just 1 but 2 scary stories. They weren't that scary, in fact when the first one was over Nixon said "that's it?!" I got to sleep on Rossi's AWESOME tempurpedic mattress topper with Sierra and it was heavenly! :) I got to sleep with all the kids! :)They are such good sleepers. Corbin is a wonderful sleeper, at just barely 3 months old he completely sleeps through the night and then until about 8:30am, Briana=so lucky! We arose and got going, made pancakes for the kiddos and gave Rossi his chocolate milk, hurried and finished my makeup and then Ashton and I were off. Sierra got to spend the day with Aunt Briana and the boys...

She had such a fun day of watching Corpse Bride, going to the store, out to pizza for lunch, the book store, painting a jar, making sugar cookies. Thanks Briana for being so sweet with her and keeping her for the day! :)
After a beautiful drive along the coast we arrived at Legoland. It was raining on us the whole night at Briana's and still in the morning, worried that we were going to have a wet day but it was beautiful and didn't rain on us once.
First things first, Ashton needed to practice his skills and dig for dinosaur bones. He wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up and he LOVED digging through the sand and brushing the bones. We first uncovered a Triceratops and he also found a big T-rex bone and an egg too.
We were off to ride a dino-coaster and then a safari trek. The favorites of the day was DIGGING for DINO BONES! and the Project X that was just like Mulhulland Madness at Ca Adventure. Oh, and driving the cars. He got to drive a car by himself on a rode that had no track. He got a drivers license too!
We had to get a hopper ticket to use the free child's ticket so we went to Sea-Life. We saw them feed the baby sharks and we learned that Octopus like to play with toys, there was a ball in it's tank. They are as smart as dogs. Ashton liked the hammerhead shark too and the scratch quiz card he got to scratch off the circles to find the right fish to win a sticker at the end of our adventure. After he got his sticker he said, "I would have rather kept the quiz!"
We finished our day back at digging for dino bones and uncovered a Stegasaurus.
We had a great day together, I cherish the time I have with my children. and the intimate one on one time is unforgettable, really special! Love my big boy!
We made it back to Briana's and they were making the cookies and she was making dinner. I got to give Corbin a bath, sweet baby! We had yummy stovetop mac and cheese and asparagus with their family and a cookie :) and then it was time to get back on the road. SAD! Thanks Briana for having us and keeping Sierra for the day and feeding us. We are so appreciative, love you tons!

Sierra's Field Trip...

Today I went on the bus with my daughter and the 2 classes of 4th grade. We went to Moorpark College Learning Zoo. It was very cool, entertaining and cold and rainy. We sat for a show where they showed us about 15 animals and taught us all about them. Then we got to take a tour and see where all the animals stay. A lioness growled at us and a female spider monkey was screaming at us and showing her teeth. She was not happy about us being there. She started shaking her cage and making a bunch of noise to scare us away and that is exactly what she did! :) It was educational and I enjoyed being there with my girl. She sat by me on the bus and snuggled me and told me I was the best mommy ever! :)

Special Disney Day!

Yesterday Sierra and I had a bonding day. We went to Disney just the 2 of us. I'm so sad that I don't have any pictures. We went on whatever she wanted to go on. We held hands the whole time. It started raining and we ate corndogs under our umbrella on a park bench. We rode on everything together. We gave each other lots of hugs. She said to me all day, "Thankyou Mommy, I just love being with you!" Unfortunately we didn't get fast passes early enough for the World of Color so we were disappointed we didn't get to see the show but we didn't let it ruin our day. We finished it off with 2 runs of California Screamin and an In 'n out cheeseburger and chocolate shake on the way home. Sierra started crying when we were walking to the tram, she said she was so sad that this day was over, she didn't want it ever to end. :)
I need to do things like this more often. I loved every minute of it too! :)

X2

Today Jake's company had a company picnic at Magic Mountain. We got all the perks! We got free parking and 4 tickets for our family to spend the day at Magic Mountain. We don't make it a habit to break the Sabbath, don't judge us. :) We first went to Ed's homecoming. He served his mission in Hungary and gave a great homecoming talk. I love the sweet spirit of a freshly returned missionary. :)
Then we went to Six Flags. We rode Revolution once and then twice because the kids LOVED it. Then we went to meet the company at the picnic to eat yucky food. Sorry, Magic Mountain doesn't put on much of a spread. Maybe I sound ungrateful, that's bad. I'm grateful we had food to eat and my tummy was not hungry and my children were not hungry.
We played a game, 3 legged race, with all the other families in which my children were both crying at the end because the rope hurt their legs so bad.
We went on to ride alot of crazy roller coasters, including Goliath (my fav), Ninja, Colossus, the Buccaneer :), and X2. The longest ride we waited for was X2. There was actually a line for X2, for all the other rides we just walked right on. I can not believe we took our children on X2, I had no idea what I was getting us into. The heighth requirement is 48 inches, Viper is 54 inches so I thought it can't be that bad. I did not enjoy one minute of it and I LOVE rollercoasters. That ride is crazy, psycho!!! I kept apologizing to my children afterwards. When the ride finally stopped I looked over at Ashton and he said, "I didn't like that!" He wasn't crying though. I told him I didn't like that either, I'm so sorry! Sierra said that 1/2 way through she yelled "DADDY SAVE ME!"
At least we can say that we've been on X2 and we never ever have to go on it again.
Have a Six Flags Day! :)

A Name and a Blessing

Today on 10/10/10, my sweet nephew, Corbin James, was given a name and a blessing by his daddy.
The huge circle of men who hold the priesthood, family and friends, was powerful. They encircled that sweet baby and blessed him with that priesthood that they all honor. What a beautiful blessing his daddy gave him! What a sweet baby! What a special day!

Don't even know this boy with Ashton but he is the son of a friend of my sister's and he sure is cute!

I was admiring all of Corbin's perfect facial features. He is such a beautiful, handsome baby boy. I just adore him and love to kiss his perfect cheeks and kissable lips! :)

Great Pumpkin Event

Today we went over to Michael's and bought a pumpkin and then we got to make a pumpkin masterpiece. They had bats and spider pumpkins as an example. Sierra decided to make a purple bat...

and Ashton just wanted a traditional jack-o-lantern pumpkin. But, he decided to paint it black...

and then he painted the eyes and mouth on it ALL BY HIMSELF!

Sierra didn't want just a plain white pom pom nose so she painted black polka dots on it, so clever!

They both turned out so cute!
