Piano Recital

Yesterday we went for a run in the morning, again all 4 of us and it was so great!

The rest of the day was so restful and I just loved it and enjoyed every second of lying around, wasn't feeling that great because it was just that depressing time of the month. Oh, I planned a lesson for Sierra's class too because I had the privilege of teaching them today. What a great group of young ladies.
In the afternoon Sierra had her piano recital and we all went in support of our talented girl...

and said, "Jimmy Dean's has got nothin' on me!" Love it when my hubby is so pleased with simplicity! :)
I have to mention he also helped in the kitchen tonight and squeezed a whole pitcher of fresh squeezed orange juice. YUM!

Today...I am grateful!

I am grateful that Sierra had the opportunity to go to Stake Activity Days this morning and learn so much! She enjoyed every minute and is soaking up and relishing in the Gospel. She says the gospel makes her happy and feel good. :)
I am grateful to her leaders and the time they take to teach my daughter and lead her in the path of righteousness.
I am grateful that Sierra writes down her blessings every night. She is a great example to me!
I am grateful to my mom for giving Jake opportunities today and yesterday to meet new people for business.
I am grateful for my husband who works so hard to provide for our family and is such a great coach to our little guy and his baseball team.
I am grateful that Jake and I had a date night last night. We had so much fun! We love to be together, our lives have gotten a bit more chaotic and needed that time together. Sushi was SO good, watched The Tourist too! Mom had the kids, Thanks Mom!
I am grateful that my body is strong, I'm thankful that I could go run for the first time this morning with my son. He's 6 and he wanted to go for a run with me. I was so impressed, he did AMAZING! He ran the mile in our track, he ran the whole thing and even ran up the Escalera hill, which is impressive all by itself. Then we past our house because he wanted to keep going, so we ran for a ways on the paseo too! We ended up running about 2 miles. We met a kitty cat that loved us and rubbed up against both of us and followed us for a little while and then flopped down in the shade.
I am grateful that he loves to spend time with me.
I am grateful that this afternoon my children were outside playing catch and speaking so kindly to each other. "Oh, I'm sorry!" and "Wow! Good throw!"
I am grateful for our home and our cozy couch and that I could snooze for a minute this afternoon while watching a movie, Tron Legacy, with my kids.
I AM GRATEFUL!

Playing catch up...

This week we had computer problems SO no blogging was going on but it was a crazy week.
Went on a field trip with Ashton's class on Tuesday to the Getty Center, no pictures, forgot camera. :(
We had such a great day, I just chaperoned Ashton and Eliza G. and they were absolute angels.
They were interested when I was telling them about different things we saw in the museum and I would actually read the captions to them and they would listen.
We LOVED the garden.
We sat on the big tiles in the middle of the water in the fountain area and felt like we were on our own little island.
We loved the Paris exibit.
We loved the tram ride.
We loved our day!
One of the mom's said when we were waiting for out last tram back to the car that she can't tell you how many times they got yelled at by the Museum staff. One person even said to her, you have to watch them and the mom replied, I'M TRYING! Another mom said her stress level is up to here and she motioned above her head. So glad I had the two little angels that I had because we never got yelled at and we loved every minute. NO STRESS! :)
On Wednesday I had Sophi's boy's for an hour or so after I got Ashton from school and I got to watch and snuggle Lucy too! That was a great day!
Kimi babysat the kids that afternoon into the night because Jake, I and Janelle went to the 4:30 session and we got to be there for the Chapel session with the Stake.
My kids LOVE Kimi! They even got to make brownie cookies, play HORSE (basketball) and watch Evan Almighty! She is so FUN!
Friday Sierra had a retainer checkup and she gets to stop wearing her retainer. So her fang teeth can move down. She was excited. We went and did recycling and Sierra made $32. Jake and Ashton went to baseball practice while I reorganized the garage. Then Jake had to go back to work, then mow the lawn. I went and picked up pizzas.
Saturday was crazy...
My mom and I did a garage sale at her house with the rest of the track. Sierra and Ashton both sold stuff too! My mom made cinnamon rolls and Sierra sold them for $1. Friday night Jake and I put out some things on the sidewalk with free signs. Our BBQ that was falling apart. Our tugboat sandbox and our kids picnic table that was falling apart too. A funny story, the BBQ was the first to be taken by a guy with a huge trailer attached to his truck. Then we saw one of the neighbor kids pushing the sandbox up the street to his house and next thing I know I see the picnic table being pushed up the grassy hill by another neighber kid to his house across the street. SO FUNNY! YAY, mission accomplished. :)We finished the garage sale while Jake went and moved Bill. Dropped off our leftovers at the goodwill truck. Went to Ashton's baseball game. Then Jake had to go do an Open House for a Realtor. While I got my lesson ready, reorganized the house after selling furniture and needed to find new places for things. Vacuumed. Made waffles and eggs for dinner. Ironed. Made cookies for my lesson. Finished laundry while watching Narnia #3 with my family. Didn't sit down with my husband until about 10:30pm but finally enjoyed time with him.

Happy Day...

Today was a happy day...Mother's day and Granny's actual birthday! My kids and hubby are so sweet to me...it was a great day!

We went to church and church was so great, great speakers, great lessons. I was in YW's and in comes hubby to serve all of us leaders with a yummy cinnamon roll and strawberries, what a treat! The best part (for the girls) is then the Bishop came in and said all the girls get to have a cinnamon roll and strawberries too! That just made their day! :)
Right after church we went to Granny's for lunch.
Sam performed the bagpipes for us, so COOL!

Granny got a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, she LOVES it! She told us of a story when her kids were little and they weren't going to get a Christmas tree. Her kids were so sad so she said OK we will go but we have to find a tree that only cost $1. So off they went to the Christmas tree farm. They saw the worst looking tree in the place and asked the man if they could buy it for $1. The man said, "oh lady, you don't want that tree, that's a Charlie Brown tree!" She had no idea at this time what that meant. She said "so can we have it for $1?" He said, "I wouldn't sell you that tree!" So Granny said, "you mean we can HAVE it!" He said, "yes, you can have it!" Uncle Bob held the tree out the window the whole way home and when they got home her kids decorated it. She thought it was the most beautiful tree they ever had. From that time on she always would go to the Christmas tree farm and look for the worst tree in the lot. A Charlie Brown tree!

Then we had a performance by Sam, Timmy and Jack on their violins.

We left Granny's and stopped by Terry and Janelle's to say Happy Mother's Day and then we came home and Jake and the kids made me dinner in bed. A BLT with strawberries and I LOVED every minute of it. I finished dinner and stayed in bed and read my book. I felt so spoiled.

and while I was reading I popped open my gift from Sierra and enjoyed. It was a can and the label said "PULL TAB, The contents of this can are to be used purely for the treatment of stress due to motherhood. When feeling such ailments, procure quiet room, lock door, and consume immediately. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!"

Inside were peanut M&M's and pretzel M&M's, 2 of my fav, so yummy!

Sierra also wrote a poem and gave it to me, Jake's mom, my mom, Sophi, Briana and Miriam.
"Mother's Day Poem"

Mother's special day only comes once a year,

For aunts, grammys, grandmas that we hold so dear,

Without them, life would never be complete,

Until the first moment you really meet,

So show them you love them, give them a rose or two,

Then tell them mommy, grandma, auntie...

I LOVE YOU!!

I am grateful to be a mommy!

A Crazy Weekend...

but oh so GREAT! Started on Friday, I received an invitation from Ashton to come to the MPR at school on Friday at 11am and attend a Mother's Day Tea. I just love being with my kids so it was such a treat. They sang us a song..."4 hugs a day" and then Ms. Kim read us a book, "I'll Love You Forever", I was a wreck! :) We got to eat yummy treats and they had lemonade and tea to drink. I just stuck with lemonade. :)

Now in this picture Ashton is not sad, he says it's his baby face because he's my baby...yes, I think I've ruined him. :)

Ashton made me a special pot and planted me a flower that is my favorite color, PINK! Not pictured, but he also made me a clay dish and painted it and said I can put my rings in it. :)
Then we went to Grammy's for leftover tacos and there was a duck in her pool with her babies, we enjoyed sitting out there and watching them, the babies were so cute, they stuck right by there mommy's side.

Friday night was Dad's for dinner and swimming.

Jake and Ashton went to the Father Son campout but did not sleep there and they were kicked out at 8pm because they had to move the car out...so they came over to Dad's too.

Then on Saturday morning Jake was up super early and headed back to the campground to cook everyone breakfast. He made breakfast burritos for everyone and they were all saying how good it was, so my husband CAN cook afterall! :)

Then when he got home I helped with clean up, dishes, returning grills, all that jazz.

Then we were off to Ashton's game.

Our babysitter came, Briana brought her kids over and we all headed to the temple to do a session with our family for Grannie's birthday.

After the temple we all went to Grannie's house for her birthday party with Stonefire and cake and icecream.

Unusual

You never will find my baby girl sleeping in the afternoon. If I ever say that it is quiet time or rest time, time to read, sleep, write, study, anything quiet you will never find her sleeping. I was laying down and just encouraged her to lay with me and within moments she was asleep. Being up at 2:30am must have really wiped her out!

Look who's here...

Lucy Mae has arrived! 7 lbs. 10oz. Congrats to Sophi and Rich!
We got the text at 2:38am from Sophi that her water broke and they were going to the hospital. I woke up Sierra and we headed down too. So we got to the hospital about 3am...and then we would go back and forth to see Sophi and then just hang out in the waiting room because they wouldn't let us all in her tiny triage room.

Brenna, Sierra, Rich's sister Trisha, and Rich's mom CharleneHer Dr. had told her that she could have whoever she wanted in the room however the hospital would only allow her to have 4 people. Well, there were 8 of us...so Sierra and I didn't make the cut this time. Sophi was sad, I was sad, Sierra was sad, there were some tears...still fun to be there and be able to see her right after she was born.

Love you sweet baby Lucy!!!
