Sierra and Ashton's Party

Yesterday my kids threw a party.
They planned the whole thing, from start to finish.
With Sierra as the Director, she is such a party planner.
First, the Evite was chosen by both and typed up by Sierra.
Next, the games were planned out precisely, including clues for the scavenger hunt.
Lastly, purchases were made, by mom of course.
The party was executed perfectly and I LOVED it because I just had to be there to supervise and visit with the mom's that stayed, eat the yummy food, and hold the babies.:)

Last night was our Ward Halloween Party and it was great! The kids LOVED the Spook Alley! I thought the hightlight was when the Grady's performed "Thriller" on stage, they.were.AWESOME!
This morning me and mom ran 12 miles, definately feeling it, my body hurts but I'm so thrilled that I'm ready for my race in 2 weeks.

Bold

Today was Sierra's Explorer Presentation. She is a bold girl, she researched and presented her project on Brigham Young. She had to make artifacts that represented his motivation, obstacles and impact. She dressed up as a missionary and memorized all of her information. She even showed pictures as she presented. She started off..."Hi my name is Sierra and I'm a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints..."

Presenting to her brother.
She did such a great job! She spoke loud and clear and had everything memorized! I just adore my bold, courageous, little missionary. :)

Best Day EVER!

My darling girl has been wanting an I-pod Touch for a year. Her daddy and I have not been okay with her having one, for various reasons, but after careful deliberation and a lot of rules set, we agreed. She has been saving and saving and has had enough money for a while now. So...yesterday was the day.

She is now the VERY proud owner of an I-touch. :)

Ashton

Last night Ashton lost a tooth (with daddy's help, yay for daddy's) and then while he was brushing his teeth he lost it again. We couldn't find it anywhere. I told him he better write a letter to the tooth fairy to explain. So he sat at his desk and wrote a letter to put under his pillow instead of his tooth.
"Dear tooth fairy I Lost my tooth Please send back PS Ashton"
We hoped "Gertrude" would understand and know that he was telling the truth. She did and she left him 1 dollar! HURRAY!
and this morning I was making lunches in the kitchen and Ashton said "mom, I know a really really bad word. Do I have to tell you?"
mom: yep
A: ookaaay, it's SAXY (sexy)
mom: ohhhh

morning excitement

so this morning I was in my bathroom and Ashton ran in and yelled kitty has a lizard. i spied kitty coming down the hallway and yes, there was something in her mouth but no, it was not a lizard it was a...BIRD! oh oh no! I quickly ran toward kitty and was going to shoo her outside but si was so helpful and yelled NO KITTY! well, that was it, she let go of the bird and that dang bird flew all over the house pooping a few times on the kitchen floor and the kitchen counter where it landed for a sec. i told sierra to grab it cause she's not afraid like her mom. she got a paper towel like she was going to get a bug. it flew up again and as we were all ducking it finally flew out the wide open sliding door. whew.

Aftermath

Yesterday me and mom ran 10 miles. We are training for the 1/2 marathon in Santa Barbara. I felt so great running, loved it! But, afterwards, I was icing my knee, shin and foot. I ended up falling asleep so I iced for a long time, great! Hopefully feeling great tomorrow when we run 6.

Old News

There is no time for blogging anymore! Only time to take a breath! I am so glad I only enrolled in one class because this one class is very time consuming. I feel like I'm reading, studying and doing homework when I'm not watching something and cozying with hubby, taking care of my kids because they have needs too :), doing something for my calling in YW's, working for my mom or running. I LOVE all of my duty's honestly, I'm not complaining. I LOVE school, I LOVE my husband and children (BEST JOB), I LOVE my calling, I LOVE working with my mom and I LOVE to run. I also LOVE being busy! I just don't get to blog everyday, that's ok as long as I can squeeze it in here and there. So to catch you up...
I had my 2nd exam this last Tuesday and I studied as much as I could and then I prayed really hard that Heavenly Father would help me retain the knowledge because I just wanted to study all weekend but instead I went to the temple with Jake on Friday, hosted a Friendship dinner at our house on Saturday, had dinner with mom and Sophi and families at Grannie's on Sunday, had to help Ashton write a talk on Sat, write out assignments for the youth on a flyer to pass out on Sunday because I was also in charge of the Combined Activity on Tuesday night. All GREAT things but I needed help from above and he did send his angels because I got an A. :)
In other news about a week and a half ago Sierra limped out to my car as I was waiting for her in valet at school, one of her shoes was off. During PE she was jump-roping and landed on her left foot sideways. She bruised it pretty bad. I wrapped it with an ace bandage and sent her to school like that for the next 3 days. Her foot didn't seem to be getting any better so last Thurs. I took her to the drs and they x-rayed it and told me that it wasn't broken just badly sprained. He gave her a boot to wear to school which was much better than wrapping it every morning. She has been wearing the boot ever since and we are now starting to see improvement. :)
Yesterday I got to go with Ashton on his first field trip in 1st grade to the Underwood Family Farm. They first taught them all about fruits and vegetables.

Then we went on a tractor ride in the trailor...

and then we headed out to the fields.
We each got to pick a bag of vegetables. Farmer Jon taught us how to pick. We picked baby carrots, fennel, cilantro, golden radishes, and lettuce. Some of us also got stung by Stinging Nettles, a plant that stings you if you touch it and it hurts like a bee sting. One brushed up against my leg and left a welt. Stung for about 7 minutes.
Each of the kids got to pick a baby sugar pumpkin.
 Mrs. B's class-October 12, 2011
When we got home Ashton was so excited about all of his vegetables. We washed them and ate some of the baby carrots. We made a big salad for dinner with the lettuce. Ashton kept saying this salad is the freshest we've ever had, fresh from the farm. It was such a HOT day at the farm but so much fun being a farmer.
Today is sister, Sophi's birthday! Happy Birthday Soph! LUV YOU TONS!
Had a stake YW's leadership meeting tonight. Jake had a softball game. Mom was nice enough to come and be with the kids, they got to watch a movie and eat icecream and candy. That doesn't normally happen at our house on a school night. What a nice Grammy! :)
That's a wrap! :)
