Disneyland in 2009!

For Sierra's Birthday we went to Disneyland! It was a Friday and was more crowded then we're used to because we usually go in the middle of the week. We still had a great time!!! We have been so much that we don't feel like we have to run and get on everything. We went on our favorite rides and then at California Adventure and watched the parade and went to the Aladdin show. We drove home about 7:30pm and stopped at Mandarin Wong and got one of Sierra's favorite, orange chicken. She told me that it was the best birthday ever!!! I think it helped that she got just what she wanted, a pink Nintendo DS. :)

We are on the tram headed for a Magical day!!!

We all LOVE Thunder Mountain!

Buzz Lightyear
Jake always gets the highest score. He is pretty professional! :)
Ashton was mostly looking around, he shot his gun a few times. He doesn't even know that his score is kept, he's just having FUN!!!

Come on, use those muscles and get that sword out!

This was on the Pinocchio ride. Jake was embarrassing Sierra because he loves to yell, "PINOCCHIO!" Sierra and Ashton were so cute with each other, sitting close and as they would wait in line for this ride and others they would hold hands. Enough to make a Mother's heart melt!
We went with no stroller so Jake carried Ashton on his shoulder's for a lot of the day, what a good daddy!
Sierra was born at 3:30pm so she was checking the time all day and at 3:45pm she said, "Mom, I'm 8!"
Lightening McQueen and Mater are Ashton's favorite!

We are waiting for the Aladdin show to start. Sierra just bought this baby Simba with her birthday money.

Needless to say at the end of the day all of our fanny's were dragging!

Happy Birthday, Sierra!!!!

Happy 8th Birthday, my precious baby girl!!! You are such a joy and have brought and continue to bring such happiness to our home since the day you were born. You were so tiny when you were born and you've grown so much. You are smart, determined, kind, sweet, loving, sensitive, beautiful. You have such a great desire to do what is right. You are so courageous! You are a great swimmer, runner, softball player, artist, babysitter, dancer, singer, pianist and violinist. :)You are great at everything you do and everything you try. I am so grateful to be your mom, you make me so proud. You are a great example to me! I am so proud of your decision to be baptized. This birthday is very important. I love that you want to follow Jesus! You bring so much joy to my life!!! I adore you! "You are my sunshine!" "I love you more than you know!" (that is what Sierra always says to me) I love you, I love you, I love you, my little love!!!

Guess what I had for breakfast!?!

This morning Baby Blake came and his mom, Carla, is so nice she brought donuts for Sierra for her birthday because tomorrow is her birthday but we won't see Blake or Carla tomorrow. She brought Sierra her fav and Ashton got his fav too (they both love yellow donut with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles). She also brought a maple bar and 2 chocolate bars and a twisty glaze bar. Oh my GOODNESS!!! I don't let myself eat donuts normally but Aunt Flo came yesterday (bummer) and so I feel yucky and I am treating myself. I ate delicious Carrot Cake (that Liz E. made) for breakfast yesterday and this morning I took a bite of every single bar and ended up eating the whole maple bar. YUMMY!!!!

Bling Bling!!!

For Sierra's baptism I got her a very simple white dress. With her dress I got her a pair of white wedge flip flops that have hearts linked together (very cute). They were just missing a little bit of BLING so my sister had a great idea to get a package of tiny gems and glue them on. They turned out pretty cute. Thanks Soph!!!

Birthday M&M's

For Sierra's Birthday treat for her class we put together little baggies of M&M's. She is so excited because they even say her name! :)

Sierra's Family Birthday Party!

Tonight was Sierra's Family Birthday Party! She was so cute, she was so excited and so happy! When we were singing Happy Birthday to her she was so cute, she had a huge smile on her face and she was kind of hopping and she was shaking her hands and twisting them. She has done that since she was tiny. She would get excited and hop around and shake her hands and if she was sitting her feet would twirl. It is so cute to see and witness that we are all born with our own unique personalities.
She doesn't like cake, she wanted to have chocolate chip cookies. So, like last year I made her a chocolate chip cookie cake but this time I put a picture of her on it. :)

Papa did the honors of cutting her cookie cake into triangles.

Everyone was enjoying their cookies and milk!

Opening her presents!

Thankyou Nana and Papa for all my cute new clothes! I will look so cute at school!

Thankyou Grammy and Grammpy and Shane for my new mattress!!! I will be so cozy in my bed!
Thankyou Grandma and Grandpa for my new Horse DS game. I hope I get a Nintendo DS on my birthday so I can play it! :)

I can't believe that my 1st baby is turning 8 years old. Wow!!! I don't feel old enough to have an 8 year old. She is such a blessing in my life and I thank Heavenly Father daily for sending her sweet spirit to me and allowing me to be her Mom. I feel very privileged.

Like Father, Like Son

Jake reads the newspaper every single morning. Last Friday, in a part of his paper I found a picture of a racecar. I showed it to Ashton and he said "can that be my newspaper?" I gave it to him thinking he would just look at it for a bit and then go on playing. I walked past his room and found this...he was reading his newspaper while listening to the Cars movie soundtrack. So cute!

T is the Letter of the Week!

Last week Ashton and I talked about the letter Tt. We aren't going in order, I just ask him on Sunday's "what letter do you want to talk about next week?" and he tells me.

We watched "T"homas the "T"rain.

Then we made a Thomas the Train, with cotton balls for the smoke stack and Penne Pasta for the Train Track. We even put the #1 on the engine (that is Thomas' #)

We made a watered down paste and he got to paint it on the wax paper and then we put ripped up tissue paper all over the glue and we put the Tt's in the middle and a frame around the edge and then Ashton got to practice writing the letter T on the frame. It looks like stained glass when you hold it up to the light so we taped it to our sliding glass door and we get to look at the letter Tt all the time. :)

We also got to watch the "T"rash "T"ruck.
Ashton enjoyed learning about the letter Tt because he loves trains and trucks.
