Wizards of Waverly Place

On Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Tay and I had the priviledge of going to see the filming of a Disney show, Wizards of Waverly Place. My friend, Cathy and her 2 boys came along with us. We had the best time. During the filming they will take lots of breaks so we had 2 warm up guys entertaining us a majority of the time. At one point they were asking the audience to show some of their talents, for ex. anyone who likes to sing or dance. Well, my daughter was waving her hand in the air and they chose her to come over. She jumped right up and they put the microphone in front of her mouth and asked her what her name is, she of course told them with quite enthusiasm. Then they asked her what she was going to do for them. She said, "I'm going to sing!" They then asked her "what are you going to sing" she said "I don't know." Then the bell rang and it was time to be quite because they were going to film a scene. So Tay sat down on the steps where she was standing. When the lights came back on one of the warm up guys said "I was talking with Tay during the break, which I know were not supposed to do because the microphone's are very sensitive, and she said that her favorite musical is Wicked". Everyone in the audience seemed to agree that Wicked is GREAT! He continued on and said "so she wants to sing a song from Wicked, what song are you going to sing?" Tay says, "Popular". They said "Great, go for it". She pauses and says "I can't remember how it starts". They say "who knows how it starts" and several people from the audience including the warm up guys start singing "Popular...". Then Tay starts in and sings a few lines from the song. She was so cute!!! When she was done she got a ticket for the raffle but she never won a prize. :) When she came back to her seat she said, "Mom I was so embarrassed because even the stars of the show down there were watching me!" I was so proud of her, how brave she was and how great she sang! She has such a sweet voice!
What a great experience to watch a TV show be made! We saw them mess up, Tay said to me "I think it's funny when they mess up!"
Half way through the filming we got a snack which was a tiny piece of pizza and a water bottle that had a Wizard's label on it. We also got candy thrown at us. We were very well entertained!
When the show was over we got to go down on the set and meet the stars and get autographs and take pictures. We had so much fun!!!

Selena Gomez plays "Alex" on the show and after this pic was taken Tay looked up at her and said, "You're my favorite!" Selena then gave Tay a big hug and said "Thank you so much, I don't deserve that!" Selena was so sweet with Tay.
Tay with "Justin". She says "he's funny!"

Tay with "Max" and our two friends that came with us.

Tay with "Harper". On the show she is "Alex's" best friend.

This is "Baxter". On this particular show he played a weather man whom "Justin" wanted as his mentor and throughout the show Justin was trying to help him.

This is the kitchen of the Sub Shop that the "Russo" family owns.

We were lucky enough to get a pic of the cast and Tay was able to have everyone sign it.
She also got a poster of the 3 kids; Justin, Alex and Max.
Here we are sitting at the bar in the Sub Shop.

Laws Museum

On January 10, 2009 we were on our way home from Mammoth and decided to stop in Bishop at Laws Museum. Pretty interesting, an old town (Old West style) with a grocery store and dentist and doctor's office, a Barber Shop. In the Post Office if you looked in the tiny window there was a manikin of a lady dressed as if she worked there and if you push a button she talked. Tay was scared to death of that thing. She would not look in the window and if there was a manikin in any other place she didn't want to go in. There was a manikin of a lady in one of the houses and I didn't tell her so she came in and was fine. I don't know what she was envisioning, a scary looking robot?

AJ loved the tractors!

Tay thought this old piano was pretty neat!

The boys thought this train was so awesome! :)
AJ: "It even has a word on it." Referring to the #9.

They were all inside the train checkin' out how to drive this thing.

Tay was ringing the bell of the train.

"Mom, the kids used to write on their very own tiny chalkboards." She told me before we walked in the schoolhouse and then we saw for ourselves, she was right, there was a tiny chalkboard on every desk.
"That's a really small school." She said.
When you turned the corner there was a bedroom and Tay thought that was different, the teacher slept in the same place that the kids went to school.

Mammoth January 4-10, 2009

The kiddos and I went to Mammoth this winter with my mom, my sister (Bri) and her 2 kiddos. Chase, Jacque and Jacque's sister Jessica were there with us from Sunday to Tuesday. Cousin James is living and working in Mammoth for the winter teaching snowboarding so we got to spend a lot of time with him. FUN FUN!!!

Tay loves to make snow angels. As soon as she sees snow on her back she goes.

AJ is trying to make it up the hill so he can go down. Down is definately more fun. :) This hill is right out in front of the condo. The snow plows make it when they plow the snow from the parking lot.

Nix would say to me, "You help me." He liked to have help going up the hill. It was slippery.

On Tuesday Briana, Tay and I went to Color Me Mine. Tay painted a Tinkerbell figurine, Briana painted a sushi plate and I painted a butter dish. We were there for about 2 hours painting. We had tons of fun!! We had fun playing Domino's. Bri is very serious. :)

We had fun playing with Tino. He is so cute!

We all had fun eating, hanging out and staying cozy!

I even made my very first homemade pie crust for my very first pumpkin pie! Thanks MOM!I know it looks delicious, it really was!

Cousin James is a pro at riding the free public transportation and on Thursday he asked us if we wanted to take the bus to the library. "Of course we do!" The kids absolutely loved it!

There was a great children's area at the library. AJ is playing on the computer, we read books in a big huge rocking chair and climbed through a tunnel on the floor. Bri even got a free book.

On Friday Cousin James took us up the mountain on a Gondola ride. We were watching all the snowboarders and skiers flying off jumps. We didn't get to go to the top because it was closed but we went to the half way point and turned around and still had a great time.

Then, we went back to our really fun sledding spot we found on Wednesday and sled some more and also just played in the snow.

What cute kids!!!
