Look who's home...

Uncle Blake arrived home from his mission in Albuquerque, New Mexico last night. His flight kept getting delayed and was going to come in to late for us to drag our kids to LAX, sad! We are thrilled but my kids are especially thrilled! Sierra had her whole class at school sign a card for him and Ashton kept asking all morning to go see him. When Ashton finally got to make his way to Grammy's house he stayed there with Uncle Blake for hours. My mom said that she saw Ashton on the couch with Blake, they were looking at Blake's computer and Ashton had his head on Blake's chest. He loves Blake!

She said Yes!

Whitney, and she is going to marry my cousin Marshall! We went to her bridal shower this morning. So FUN, the anticipation of being a bride and getting married. She is so cute and we wish her and Marshall lots of love and happiness as they join as one and embark on their new adventure! :)

Look at this beautiful lady...

This is my Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Randy and we celebrated Aunt Ruthie's 50th birthday tonight! Uncle Randy threw a surprise party for her and we drove with my mom and we missed the surprise. This is what happened...We were driving up the street and behind us was Uncle Randy's car with Jessica driving and Aunt Ruth in the passenger seat, we pulled over and turned off the car because we knew that Aunt Ruthie would recognize my mom's car. We waited a few minutes until we were sure they had gone in the house and then we drove up the street some more and parked and went in. Uncle Randy and their friend Michele made a picture slide show DVD for her and we went in right as they were starting it. What a beautiful tribute to her and to 50 years of life!

Amanda and her family came down from up North and that was so fun! Aunt Ruth with Granddaughter, Melissa! She is so cute and so so sweet!Jake, me, Aunt Ruthie, Papa (Uncle Randy's Dad), Uncle Randy

My mom, Auntie, and me
I love my Aunt Ruthie! She will always hold a special place in my heart! Her and Uncle Randy have been married for 30 years. I was watching them tonight and they are still so in love, beautiful to watch! What a great example to me!

Family Time!

What a funny picture but I had to post it because we were all in our bed and the kids loved the fact that our whole family was together in our bed, even the kitty. :)

He's a Preschool Man!

These are Ashton's keys and he is way into hooking them on his belt loop so he can be a "Preschool Man." His Preschool Teacher, Ms. Jan, always wears keys hooked on her belt loop. So cute that he wants to be like her. :)

Brotherly Love

This is the cuteness that fills my days 2 or 3 days a week!
Very busy but very cute!

Another Truth Revealed!

Sierra came home from school today and asked, "mommy is the Easter Bunny real?"
Me: no, I'm sorry
Sierra: That's okay. I asked Riley at school and he said "COME ON! A GIANT EASTER BUNNY THAT BRINGS YOU CANDY AND HIDES EGGS!" So who puts stuff in our Easter Baskets?
Me: Who do you think puts stuff in your basket?
Sierra: You and Daddy.
Me: Yep
Sierra: But how do you buy candy and stuff, I never see you go to the store!
Me: Well I do
Me:Now you have a special secret that only big kids and adults know. You cannot tell your brother or anyone younger than you.
Sierra: okay mommy I won't! Can we still have an Easter Egg Hunt?
Me: Of course! We will still do everything fun on Easter!
Sierra: Okay, GOOD!
How sad! My daughter is old enough to know the truth! The magic of the holiday's is slowly disappearing! She hasn't asked the Santa question yet!

Bike Parade

Today was Ashton's Bike Parade at school. Daddy was there to watch him until I could get there, I had an appt. How fun to have daddy there! This week they talked about Transportation. Ashton says, "Transportation means to get you one place to another." He had FUN! He loves riding this scooter. It has been Sierra's scooter but has been handed down to Ashton. He loves it! He will just go in the backyard to ride his scooter. He loves going down the hill on the sidewalk in front of our house and go fast and turn on the driveway and lift up his foot. Pretty cute! Grandpa bought the scooter for Sierra at a garage sale years ago. A great find! :)

LAPD

I had the pleasure of being a chaperone for Sierra's 3rd grade Field Trip to the LAPD Police Station in Mission Hills. This station is only 7 years old, it was beautiful! One of the girl's in Sierra's class, her dad is a Commander. He took us on a tour of the station. We saw everything! The Holding Cells, the Detective Floor, the Interview rooms. He had two people from the Bomb Squad there to give us a presentation...
and we took a picture with their robot.
He also had a Canine Unit there and he got out his Blood Hound, Lola. The kids loved the dog!

We watched the dog sniff out one of the mom's...and she did find her but the wind was blowing and she didn't do as well as the officer had hoped she would. Fascinating anyways!
A picture of the children with Commander Green.
A really great Field Trip! Thanks Sierra for having me! My favorite part was being there with you! :)

Truth Revealed!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
What a fun day! Sierra loved getting dressed in some green and she wore a green St. Patty necklace. Ashton was not wearing any green and I was trying to convince him to wear something else and he didn't want to. I said, "fine you are going to get pinched."
A: but mommy I don't want to get pinched.
Mom: okay then if you don't want to wear the GREEN shirt than put this one on it has green right here.
Why do they have to have such an opinion when it comes to getting dressed?!
The leprechaun's came and turned our milk green. Ashton asked me "Are leprechaun's real?"
Mom: Uh, (shook my head no).
Both kids: Then who turned our milk green, YOU?
Mom:Uh, (shook my head yes).
Later in the day my kids said leprechaun's are real! You lied mom!
What is a mom to do!
Ashton's cousins, Lincoln and Nixon, ride the BMX track and Ashton got to make his first trip there with my sisters and my mom. BOY'S HEAVEN! I am told that he had so so much fun and was covered in dirt :)!!!
While Ashton was off on an adventure Jake, Sierra and I went on our own adventure, a bike ride and it was so so much fun!
Ashton also is having his very first sleepover at our house! His cousin Nixon is sleeping at our house tonight and Ashton is in heaven!

Honoring a Fallen Hero!

We received the following information from Kymmer Crookston...Sgt. Ian Gelig, 25, of Stevenson Ranch, was killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan on March 1st when his patrol unit was hit by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
We had the privilege of joining many others in lining the streets for the procession this afternoon. What a honor it was to stand and show the family how grateful we are for their son's service!

Such a great opportunity! Such a great experience! So emotional when I saw the faces of his family! So glad our family could take part and we could teach our children that we are honoring a hero who died fighting for our country!

What's in a boy?

What is with the growling, the constant race car sounds as he walks (races) around the house. Constantly racing everywhere. Shooting his sister and her friend with his dart gun. Making shooting sounds as he punches the air or turns on his light switch. Attacking the kitty and laying on top of her. Constant wrestling with his boy cousins. Fascination with fast race cars, sticks (especially big sticks he can chase people with)... I wouldn't want it any different! I adore my boy and doing everything boy!

Friday

Today was my first day doing PE by myself with Sierra's class. I was nervous! It was so much fun! We walked around the school for warm-up. Stretched. Set up stations. Made groups and each group took turns at each station. Push-ups, lunges, dips, Stand-up and Stand-down. Then we did jumping jacks and played a game, Zookeeper. We played Simon Says as Cool Down. Stretched. I hope the kids had fun, I had fun!
Then I had the privilege of helping Miriam with her Baby Registry. That was so fun too! They have so many new, exciting baby things that did not exist when I had my babies! Fun stuff!
Sierra is having a play date here with Karlie and Ashton is attempting to draw a race car from Battle Force 5. Me, I'm going to read my book! :)

What's new at our house?

MY HAIR! :)

Dear Tooth Fairy...

I love the picture at the bottom! Sierra left this note with her tooth. By the way, the Tooth Fairy was late! She didn't come the first night but she did show up the 2nd night! We think maybe she was busy or she doesn't work on the Sabbath! :)

Happy Birthday Rocky!

Today is my sweet nephew, Rocky's birthday! We partied hard! We all went bowling...

Yep, even I bowled. Not very good. But it was very FUN! My mom was rocking it! She kept getting strikes and spares. We couldn't even keep up.
Sierra read instead of bowled, she loves to read and was embarrased to bowl in front of so many people.
(Calli, Sierra, Haven, Sophia, Sadie, Carter)
(Julia, Blake, Ashton, Rocky, Lincoln)

LOOK WHO'S 3!We went to Maria's afterwards for pizza and cupcakes! Thanks Rocky for having a birthday, we loved celebrating with you!
Happy Birthday Rocky! We love you!!!!

No time to blog...

I've been thinking about blogging everyday just no time...we've been babysitting, went to a Relief Society meeting and cut out fabric to make shirts for people in Africa (a wonderful evening!), Sierra went birthday shopping with Grammy, doing PE with Sierra's class, Ortho appt. (Sierra gets her braces off in 7 weeks!), made bread twice, Primary Activity Movie Screening and Sierra got to play "Teach Me to Walk in the Light" on the piano for the opening song (I would have loved to see their Book of Mormon movies, I helped with Sierra's class and I heard Ashton had cotton ball eyebrows, however I had a bank trip to make and bills to pay), dinner with Mom for Sierra's birthday, lunch with my dad and a trip to Golden Spoon, watched a movie "The Box" (WIERD!),
Jake got a new toy...
Sierra lost another tooth #10...
and Ashton is busy making a bubble beard!
We are still here!

New Beginnings

Tonight was New Beginnings for Young Women's. The theme was Personal Progress...the GOLDEN Opportunity! Emma Aldridge (a beehive) planned the whole evening and did a fantastic job. I had to take my kids because Jake was playing softball. Ashton was a crazy man and having tons of fun with the other boy's there. Sierra was everyone's helper. She was helping put food out, she was helping Sis. George put the YW room back together for seminary the next morning. She helped to clean up and put chairs away. She told me she can't wait to do Personal Progress and to be in Young Women's. I know she will love Young Women's but I'm not ready for her to be there yet. She needs to be little a few more years for her mother's sake! :)
