2nd day jitters...

now Ashton knows what he has gotten himself into and this morning when I came to get him up he was awake but I think he thought if he just stayed put I would forget that he was going to school too and leave without him. Not so, I got him up and he cried and told me he did not want to go to school. Sierra was also in tears but at least she was getting ready and trying to put on a brave face. ME, I was ready to pull my hair out!
We made it out of the house and both of them actually ate a little bit of a nectarine on the way to school. Tears had subsided and we took Sierra to her class first and she put on a brave face holding back the tears as she gave a kiss and said goodbye. I took Ashton and just sat with him until morning meeting started and then he let me go.
Last night for FHE I taught a lesson out of the Friend, "Things will get better" and after school Ashton was so happy and said that today was better then yesterday. YAY, see things will get better. Sierra's day was good but still struggling with being away from me and trying to cope with being back at school with a girl who has been mean to her. She kept saying today, "mom, I know things will get better." :)

First Day!

Today was the first day of school and we all did fine! Sierra, there were nervous tears but she stayed brave, wiping her face trying to stay strong! Ashton, not really sure of what he was getting himself into but there were no tears and no clinging to mommy. Me, no tears, I went and got my kids balloons
and a special treat (m&m pretzels)and that made me feel better. I was excited to have a surprise waiting for them when they got home.
My cutie patooties!!!! Sierra looks a little green, she couldn't eat anything, she felt sick. She hates to leave her mommy, loves to be home. Back to school is hard.

awwwww...best friend!
My Ashton getting to work decorating a star nametag.

Their day was good. When I first saw Ashton he wasn't smiling. I hugged him and asked "why aren't you smiling?" He smiled right when he got in my arms. Sierra smiled right when she saw me. They both had a lot to tell me. :)

Happy Birthday!

to my Jake! We are so blessed to have you in our lives! A wonderful husband and a special daddy!

Day consisted of going to Happy Foot Spa. I had made Jake an appt for 90 minutes, 45 minute foot massage and 45 min. full body. How much you ask? only $35!!!
I kept it a surprise but this morning as he was eating his coffee cake he said "you can tell me now, it's my birthday". I spilled and he wanted me to go with him. When we got there they only had 30 minutes for me. I chose to have a back massage. She hurt me SO BAD!!! I have never had someone put their elbow so deep into my shoulder blade. My hands were sweating and I was gribbing the side of the sheet. My whole body was tense. I actually was holding my breath and said "OUCH" at one point. I was thrilled when my 30 min. was up, I have never said that before about a massage. I have been so sore today, I need a massage from my massage. Jake said his was very relaxing except for one part when he was digging deep between his chest and his shoulder. Glad he enjoyed, it is his birthday!
We went and did a little shopping, had lunch at mom's and me and kids played with Briana and her kids while hubby went to get a haircut.
My mom kept the kids for the night and Jake and I ordered in and watched a movie.
Sierra ended up calling at about 10pm and wanted to come home because she missed mommy. Luckily I just went up the street for her.
Thanks honey for having a birthday! :)

Our "last" day!

School starts on Monday so today consisted of getting last minute things done and ready for the big day, we also had to have a little bit of fun! :)
First we tried to go do recycling but both machines were down so instead we went to the drycleaners, bank and grocery store.
Ran home and then ran off to Sierra's hair appt.
She went short...

and even got sparklys! Grammy took care of this one, Thanks Grammy!

Went over to mom's and picked up Rossi and dropped Sierra off so she could babysit Corbin while Briana took a shower. Ashton, Rossi and I drove Briana's car and got gas in it and then went to get Ashton's haircut. Rossi was so good and just sat on my lap the whole time. They both got lollipops.

Then we went to In'N Out and picked up lunch and went back to mom's to eat.
Me and Sierra ran over to Justice and got her a couple more clothing items for school.
Went back to mom's and everyone went swimming, including ME!
Then off to the BMX track. MY SON rode the BMX track. 1st time! AMAZING!
Uncle Rich was with him at the starting gate. He was so encouraging and giving Ashton tips and helping him. Thanks Uncle Rich, so helpful!!! So appreciate it!

Me, I was a nervous mommy! I was so emotional (not crying, just choked up)when he started his first ride through the starting gate, "he's doing it!" When I first looked at the track I was scared, I didn't think he could do it but I didn't say that to him. My sisters were laughing at me because I was running along side my boy in case he crashed and...

he did crash but, the proudest moment for me was after his crash and after he cried it out he got back on his bike. He was so BRAVE! His first crash was crazy, I just saw his legs flip over in the air. Two bigger boys about 12 or 13 stopped riding and helped him up and picked up his bike, what NICE boys, I was so impressed.

The 3 cousins! I can't believe these boys can do this, challenging! I don't think I could do it! Ashton was LOVING it, he crashed about 3 times and he kept getting back on his bike and wanting to ride again and again.

Rocky, such a funny boy! "Do you want to ride BMX when you get bigger?" "YEP!"

These boys, WIPED OUT!

What a fun day!

Hittin' the freeway

This morning we hit the freeway and headed to Disney. We met Briana there with her 3 boys and had a GREAT hot day. Honestly most of the rides we went on were about a 5 minute wait or we just walked right on. The longest line was in California Adventure and it was the raft rapids ride, 45 minutes. Of course, today everyone wanted to get soaked. :) We rode the canoes today in Disneyland and I thought that was so so fun. The other kids and Briana liked it too but Ashton, not so much. When we were done he said "that was not very fun, my arms hurt!" Sierra said, "that was fun but I don't ever have to do it again." HA!

At about 3:45 we headed out and hit the freeway to head home. Tonight was Meet the Facilitator's Night at school. We had to stop for gas so we didn't run out and got off on a street that did not have a gas station anywhere (me, I was pretty ticked!)so we hit the freeway again and got off on an exit that had a gas station right in front of us and Ashton said "there's a gas station!" YAY! Hit the freeway again! We had to stop at my mom's house to drop off some keys and then hit the freeway again to get to school.
Ashton got to see his classroom and meet his new teacher, Mrs. Curtis. We'll see how this goes, she seemed very nice. He seemed nervous, but he wanted to go see his classroom again before we left. That's good, right?!
Sierra was thrilled with her teacher, Ms. Navarro, "she is who I wanted mom!" and her best friend is in her class too!
Hit the freeway again to come home. DONE with the freeway! :)Jake picked up dinner, my HERO! :)

The Temple is a House of God...

Tonight was the Primary trip to the temple and we didn't make it...Ashton taught us our lesson tonight and it was perfect. It was his first time teaching. He wanted to talk about temples and show pictures of temples (his choice, no influence of mine).
He drew a picture of Jesus teaching the people for his lesson too...

and he made a game, we had to get the black paper dice he made on the top rectangle by shaking it in our hands and then dropping it. Ashton and Daddy's team won. :)

LOVE THIS BOY!

Staycation!

I love it when my brother and sister come into town because we feel like we are on vacation...he got here last Monday and it is instant FUN! We went to the beach...

We made candy necklaces

jumped over Uncle Norris

Lincoln boogie boarded for the first time with Uncle Norris' help

Rocky played so content by himself in the sand and even talked to himself while he played :)

Ashton boogie boarded for the first time too!

Brenna brought her girlfriends and they were so fun!

Who needs an umbrella to find shade when you have Uncle Norris as a tent!

The boy's were sitting way over there and we had no idea why, then Sierra joined them. So cute! They told us later that they were choosing which house they wanted to live in when they grew up. I asked Ashton "which house do you want to live in?" He said "the one next to you!" Melt my heart, little love!:)

He built a fort at my mom's house and all the kids spent the night with him and Brenna, we went swimming almost everyday, Brenna took Sierra shopping...today is their last day and we went treasure hunting (geo caching)we found two...look at our treasures...

Surprise!

My daughter is the sweetest thing on the planet!

She planned a surprise birthday party for me and Jake...she is making the finishing touches on the cupcakes at the park.

The plan was that our whole family was going to go to the park to play baseball. Well, Ashton had a birthday party that I went to with him and that is a whole other story because he got to hold the biggest snake I have ever seen around his neck! So after the party we drove straight to the park. I saw more people than I expected there when we pulled up like my dad and Tori, Trina and Nate and Jake's parents. Ashton and I got him changed out of his swimsuit and into his serious baseball gear in the car and then we started walking over. Half of the family was lying on the ground and as we walked over they jumped up and said "SURPRISE!" Jake said they did the same to him.

We played baseball and held babies! I really did get out there and play but then I saw Sophi with Corbin and I walked over to hold him just while I was waiting to bat (it is my birthday you know, I get to do what I want right?!) but then I got bumped out of the game, I guess because they thought I was done (smart people!) :) Hold sweet baby or play baseball...hmmmmm

Sierra lit our candles!

Everybody sang and then we enjoyed most delicious carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!

Our girl stood on top of the cooler and read to Jake and I one at a time a poem she wrote for each of us...this is mine!
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
I just want to say
How much I love you
You gave me your heart
It will never be apart
Even if I draw a bad piece of art
Violets are Blue
Roses are Red
I will love you till I am dead (and after that and Forever!)

She also sang each of us our own song that she wrote for us and then gave us a present. What a sweetheart!

I seriously LOVE my family! A perfect birthday!

Sky City

Today we all went to Sky City Bounce House and celebrated Lincoln's birthday!
This was where Rossi felt the safest, didn't like the slides much. However, he took me to the Toddler room and he loved one of the obstacle courses with tunnels and slides.
