Wisdom

Terry had a birthday today and tonight we had a birthday party at his house with our fam, Travis and Miriam and a couple of Terry and Janelle's friends. So fun to celebrate a birthday, spend time with good company and eat yummy food. Pat Dalton asked Terry tonight "What advice do you have to share with us, oh wise one?" and Terry's response "Well, keep your nose in the wind and out of other people's business!" Well said!

QUESTIONS????

My Ashton asks me questions all day long..."Mom who's older__ or___? Mom who's taller___or ___? Mom what car is faster Mustang or Lamborghini (he says amborghini)? Mom is 50 older than 30? Mom what's bigger the moon or earth? Mom who's car goes faster yours or daddy's? Mom do you like our kitty the best or someone elses kitty? Mom who's older you or ___'s mom? Mom...Mom...Mom...He is really trying to figure things out! :)

Tonight he told me he has TWO, yes two, girlfriends, Riley (from preschool) and Ellie G.!!! WHAT?!

He also told me he wants to be a racecar driver when he grows up..."Mom, is that dangerous?"

Obsession!

My boy loves and I mean LOVES baseball! This is his latest obsession! Every night when Jake gets home from work the first question he gets asked is..."Daddy will you play baseball with me?" and Daddy is so nice he says "Yes!" :) He is just learning how to catch the ball in his glove and he wants to play catch all.day.long! But hey, that is how you get better right?! PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! :)

Teacher Appreciation Week...Our Teacher's Rock!

Today, dress up with a 1950's flare...and my 50's girl is mighty cute!
Thanks Hadley for the poodle skirt loan. :)
I have to tell about an incident this morning. Sierra wanted to bring a change of shoes and was going to put her big bulky boots in her backpack. Mom's response "Sierra why don't you just put your crocs in your backpack, they are smaller." Then I am kissing her goodbye because her carpool is here and she comes to the door with her shirt untucked and a huge bulge in her skirt by the waistband.
Mom: What is that?
Sierra: Uh, my scarf. (and pulls out her purple scarf)
Mom: no, why do you need to bring your scarf today? (and I throw it on the step)
Si: Please mommy, so if I want to change later I can wear it (she had jean shorts on under her skirt in case she wanted to take her skirt off)
Mom: Fine, I stuff it in her backpack.
So apparently she is just dressing 1950's in the morning and then planning on changing her shoes and putting on her scarf. WHATEVER! What is with the sneaking around...am I really that mean?!

Sierra's CRAZY day!

Look at this little girl "pretty in pink," she had a crazy day!
First we want to recognize these adorable earrings she has on. She got to change her earrings yesterday for the first time since she got her ears pierced and she picked her princess piggy earrings to wear, she has had them picked out to be her first earrings to wear since the day she got them pierced, exciting exciting!
At school today she lost another tooth while eating her hotdog. Now there is a bubble in her plastic retainer where her tooth used to be.
and she has this bruise on her arm because a board fell on her at school. :0
A CRAZY DAY!

Remembering those moments...

Last night I had a sweet moment with my little girl...her and I went together to the musical presentation at church, "The Road Home." It was beautiful...the music, the singing, the orchestra, the video clips, having my little girl wrapped around my finger. I got to have her sitting on my lap so she could see, she had to stand on a chair to see while we were all standing and singing and I got to have my arm wrapped all the way around her, I got to have her head on my shoulder, I got to hear her sweet voice singing the songs with me. Those little moments are so precious and I never want to forget! No matter how big she gets she will always be my baby girl!

AND...they're off!

This is my beautiful girl in February of 2009...BEFORE BRACES
This is TODAY...on our way to the orthodontist...she is freaking out, she is so nervous that it is going to hurt when they take off her braces. "Mom my front teeth are sensitive and a little wiggly, what if they pull one of them out like they did when they took off my back ones?" I explained to her that the tooth that they pulled was a baby one and was really wiggly and that her adult teeth were not going to get pulled out. She was still nervous!

BEFORE
AND AFTER :) Oh my goodness, she looks so different! What beautiful teeth!
She said she cried when they were taking them off because it hurt...she said that she thinks her teeth look big now. I told her they are not big they are perfect and so beautiful but they look big to her because she doesn't have braces anymore covering them up. SO BEAUTIFUL! A hiccup with her retainer. They pulled it out and it was green, she didn't order green she ordered purple and they tried it on her and it was to small. What happened? They made her a plastic overlay and reordered her retainer, she will get it next week.

Rainy and Mushy

Today was a rainy day and I loved it! We babysat and watched Toy Story 2 and ate popcorn. When Blake was taking his nap Grandpa came over to fertilize our lawn, isn't that nice! Ashton went out to help him and loved loved being outside and helping Grandpa sprinkle fertilizer on the lawn. What made it even more fun? It started to rain pretty hard while they were out there. Ashton was laughing and loving being out in the rain. Terry said to him when they went to the garage for a refill in their buckets, "hurry try not to get a raindrop on you." :)
Ashton and I played catch in the house and made it to 120!
We were holding baby Jordan on my lap on the couch and Ashton said "even though his cheeks are mushy I still think he is so so cutie!" :)
Tonight we went to IHOP and the kids ate FREE! :)

Welcome to the world...

LOGAN ALEXANDER! He was born at 4:54 p.m., weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 20.25 inches in length.

Jake's brother, Hunter and his wife Rosa are the proud parents and this is one proud Grandma Janelle! :) Congratulations!

A FIRST

Today was Sierra's first time iceskating! I wasn't even there. She went right after school with her friend Karlie, who has an iceskating lesson every Monday, and Sierra got to get on some skates and get on the ice. She told me all about it and said "Mom, I caught on pretty fast!" She had so much fun and her bum was all wet! :)

"BEHOLD, I AM JESUS CHRIST!"

Ashton drew this picture of Jesus and then asked me, "mom, how do you spell, Behold I am Jesus Christ?"

PIZZAS, PIZZAS, PIZZAS

I have to say that this morning was Ashton's 2nd T-ball game and of course it was so cute! I got to watch him play outfield once and then hit the ball once and then I had to leave because...Today was our Young Women Pizza Fundraiser for Girl's Camp and I was so impressed with all of our Young Women. They worked so hard for hours making about 300 pizzas. I was there from 11:00am until 5:00pm. The girls were there from about 12:00pm until about 4 or 5:00pm. I was helping with quality control, making sure that the pizzas looked good before sending them to wrapping. Such a long day, so tired when I got home but it was so fun to be with the girls. We have great Young Women! I also work with such GREAT leaders, Kathy Arbuckle=AMAZING! Brenda and Jennie=AMAZING TOO! We also had parents there helping and Sister Knecht, so wonderful! All I can say is...WOW!
These girls were making Ham/Pineapple Pizzas and they were cranking them out.
Some of our wrapping crew, they did such a great job!

Look at all these cute girls! :)
How could you not LOVE being with them! :)

Free Fryday!

Today is Free Fryday at Jack in the Box. So after we dropped off carpool I took my kids to Jack in the Box and they each got a fry and Sierra got a cheeseburger. I spent $1.10! :) Then Sierra went to the orthodontist and she is almost done. They took off her back braces today...
and they pulled out a loose tooth that Sierra didn't even know was loose. :) EXCITING STUFF! See the brace still on the tooth...the orthodontist told Sierra that she will get extra money from the tooth fairy because it has metal on it that is shiny. Sierra said, "like $5 Mom!" We shall see. :)

BUSY...BUSY!

Well, this morning I ran the girls in carpool off to school. I got ready and then Ashton and I went on his field trip for preschool at the Fire Station. What FUN! The Field Trip finished up over at the mall, a ride on the Carousel. Ran off to Trader Joe's to buy some fun, yummy things. I hadn't been there since they moved and we just loved it! Ran home to have a quick bite and then left Ashton with Sophi and I went to a meeting at Sierra's school where I was assigned to make phone calls to families who do not have enough volunteer hours at the school, can I just say anxiety! Brought the list home and haven't done it yet. Procrastination, maybe tomorrow! Jake came home and we went to Towsley Canyon to go hiking with the kids and Aunt Leanne. Aunt Leanne, Terry and Janelle came over to eat spaghetti with us. Now it's time to VEG!

Back to School!

Last night and this morning were hard. There were tears with my sweet Sierra and the pleading not wanting to go to school. Ashton was saying, "I hate school!" So hard to get back in the swing of things, for me too! :)

Dinner with Melissa!

What fun to see Melissa again! She looked so great and so beautiful! Last night Lori, Carrie and I drove to Orange County to spend the evening with her. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, Melissa's choice :) and we just talked and enjoyed her company for about 4 hours. It was fantastic! Loved being with her, wish I could see more of her! :)

1st T-ball game...

The Dodgers had their first game today and they played so great, so cute! It was freezing too!
This is pre-game stretching

Ashton said to me after practice yesterday, "mom you know when I stand like this, it's called baseball ready." He is baseball ready! :)
So fun to be on a team with your cousin!
Switched positions, he would get the ball thrown to him at 1st base and he would try his hardest to catch it in his mit, so cute! It would always go behind him and he would chase it down and hussle back to throw it in. :)
So fun to have daddy as Coach...I heard a little boy come up to Jake after the game and say "Thanks Coach!" CUTE! Jake is really great, really good with the boy's, and he knows his baseball. :)

Last Day...

Today I went running with my mom, that was fun! Then we put Easter away, that's sad! Then we had a bite of lunch and then we met Sophi and boys at my mom's house and walked to the donut shop. SO FUN! We walked there and ate a donut and walked home the kids got on their bathing suits and went swimming again. :) Came home and watched part of Mulan and then it was time to get ready for t-ball practice. After practice we played in the front yard, Sierra and I sewed bookmarks, talked with our neighbor, Ashton raced race cars down the driveway. Papa came, bought Sierra's first set of bookmarks, Mr. and Mrs. Worm (she wants to make them to sell, she is selling them for $2), and then we went to Grand Panda with Papa. It was a very fun last day of Spring Break!

Should we be allowed to have this much fun?

Today I went to a spin class, first one in a while. Came home and of course showered because I was drenched and then grabbed the kids and went to meet Sophi and boys at IHOP. What fun! We all got yummy food and enjoyed! Ashton got a Funny Face and so did Rocky and the Funny Face is a chocolate pancake with whipped cream and chocolate chips and cherries on top. Ashton looks at Rocky's face and then whispers to me, "mom, do I have chocolate all over my face?" So funny :)! He didn't but Rocky did! Then the kids and I got home and hopped on our bikes and rode to the post office to mail some bills :P We rode past the pool and there were people in there so when we got home the kids ran and got their swimsuits on and I took them to the pool so they could swim for the first time since last season. It was so warm today! :)

Watched "The Miracle Worker" and my kids finally heard the story of Helen Keller. Sierra finished Mr. and Mrs. Worm.
Had my dad over for dinner for tacos and we made icecream sundaes.
Loving Spring Break!

Wednesday already?!

Our Spring Break is going so fast! I woke up this morning not feeling to hot. My whole body hurt including my head and I attribute it to running yesterday, how pathetic I know! I am out of shape! That happens so fast too! We had a fun day after I pulled myself out of bed and into the shower. We took Ashton to get a haircut at Kids Cuts and Waves. His first time and it was so fun! He got to ride a motorcycle and watch cartoons and afterwards the kids played arcade games for FREE! It was so FUN!

Off to Joanne's to get Sierra a project to sew. She is now in the process of making bookmarks and feeling very proud of her accomplishments! :) She is doing a great job! After Joanne's we went to Golden Spoon and tonight Daddy was busy so Grammy and I took the kids to the Habit for dinner. Me and my mom had nachos and fish tacos from the Alamo and they were fantastic! The kids ate their whole dinner so they could eat their gummy hamburger. My mom was going with us because she was going to be alone tonight but then 10 min. before we were going to leave Chris ended up staying home, Sophi showed up with her family and Jacque showed up to eat Mac and Cheese at my mom's house. She told them all that she had plans with me and didn't know any of them were coming over so she left and went with me, so funny! :)

Today...

Today...went running with my mom. Then, we cleaned house in the morning (finally got my bathrooms cleaned :P). Then, we went to In 'n Out with mom and got food and went to the park with her and Sophi's boys. The kids played and I layed on a blanket and soaked in some sun. It was windy today but the sun was warm. Then, I took my kids to the library and we checked out 22 items. :)
Loving Spring Break!

My heart melts...

Jake was watching a basketball game last night and our little guy climbed up and laid on daddy and watched the game with him. Ashton was asking daddy questions like "who do you want to win?" "Who's winning?" Moments like this I want to remember forever!

Spring Break Fork Shakes

I never buy icecream! But, it is Spring Break and I bought Mint Chip icecream and Vanilla and tonight we had Mint Chip Fork Shakes after Family Home Evening of course. :)
Did I mention I'm Loving SPRING BREAK!

San Gabriel Mission

Today we went to the San Gabriel Mission with Bill and Jenn and their children and me with mine and Janelle. Kate is in 4th grade and is studying the California Missions and for Extra Credit she wanted to visit this mission. We enjoyed being with family and learning the history, very fascinating!
Sierra, Kate, Ashton, Nathan and sweet Megan
Sierra took all the pictures, except for just a couple and this is one of her masterpieces! A great picture, she's being artistic! She loved visiting the mission and wants to make a poster of all her pictures and do an Expert at school and teach her class about this mission.

This is the Bell Wall...

and this is the kids ringing the bell.

Loving SPRING BREAK!
