HAIR HEADBAND!

I love looking at hair blogs to get great ideas for Sierra's hair. This one is one of my favorites, the Hair Headband! I've done it twice now for Sunday hair and I think she looks so dang cute!!!

Beach Fun!!!

Today was a Beach FUN Day!!! We went to Point Dume with Mom, Briana and boys, Heather K. and boys, and Aunt Ruthie and kids. We always have so much fun at the beach, we just love it!!! When we first got there we started unloading the stuff and then cousin James came over and said that the waves were crashing right on the beach and it was kind of scary. I was cranky because then the decision was made to move down the beach where it appeared that the waves were not crashing quite so much right on the sand. So we loaded our stuff back in the car and drove down a ways. Then we got all situated on the beach and I told my kids to not go in the water until they had their sunblock on and they did not listen and went down to the water, they thought that's okay because they were only getting their feet wet. Well, I was cranky again because I was trying to put sunblock on wet legs. I think I need to RELAX. Once I did relax we had a great day except for the tantrum Ashton threw because I was trying to give him a timeout on the chair on the sand for not being nice to Nixon (he had taken things away from him several times) and I ended up needing to throw him over my shoulder, getting sand all over me and taking him to the car until he calmed down. He was being so naughty. I told him after he calmed down and apologized that he needed to come back to the blanket with me and eat something. He was hungry, he had eaten one thing and he doesn't ever want to eat at the beach because he is just to busy playing and my kids turn into monsters when they are hungry. After his time away and 1/2 a nectarine he played very nice and we had a great rest of our day.

With the help of cousin Sam the boys dug a giant hole and they played in it most of the day.

Sierra is running from the giant waves, the lifeguard told Mom and Aunt Ruthie that they were actually smaller then they have been the last 4 days!

She is so strong and loves the water so much she didn't mind that the waves were so huge. She was in the water most of the day. The waves knocked her down several times and she never cried, she just kept getting back up. One wave knocked her so hard that it flipped her over and it made me run to her but she came up with her ponytail all cockeyed and hair pulled up and out, sand covering her hair and body and she was smiling, so brave. A wave knocked Ashton and Nixon so hard that it knocked their feet out from under them and they went down and they were so brave too!

So cute of Mom and Andrew

MUSCLES!

Sierra and cousin Timmy are so cute together. They hang out and get along so great anytime we are together.

We saw a seal or sea lion...

and the boy's were checking him out or at least trying to see what Aunt Briana was pointing out to them. :)

SISTERS

Such a cute face! He was eating a chocolate chip cookie that I made and loving it!

The boy's were so excited when the water came high enough to fill their hole with water, it made a swimming pool.

We saw dolphins all day in the distance, there were tons of them just playing over here and then over there...and then, so AWESOME!!!! Dolphins came so close to shore, they were swimming in the waves. Everyone was freaking out! Sierra and Timmy were out in the water and the dolphins swam right in front of them. Sierra came to me and said, "mom I saw a shark!" Me: No honey they are dolphin's. Sierra: They are huge!

Today...

Today was a great Saturday! Sister, Briana, is in town with her family and whenever they are here we feel like we are on vacation. Jake woke up early and beat the heat, he went and hiked Towsley Canyon with Dad and Tori. When he got home I went on a bike ride with Briana, about 20 miles. It was so much fun!!! I was whoo hooing down the hills, so much fun!!!! When we got home we went swimming at mom's house with the kids. Uncle Brett and Aunt Briana are so fun, they play with the kids and the kids were in the pool all day except to eat their hotdogs and grapes. I made an apple pie for the Pioneer Picnic and Briana helped by doing all the dishes, :) cleaning up is the part that I hate. Jake and I went to Kohl's while mom and Briana watched our kids and then we traded and I watched Briana's kids while they did a little shopping. Jake got pizza for dinner. Bathed all 4 kids in our little bathtub. Turned on Bee Movie and got to lay down for a minute. It was a crazy day but it was a great day!!!

Backyard fun!

A few days ago the sun was starting to set so it was not quite so so HOT and me and the kids went outside to water the garden and see what new produce we could pick. Sierra comes to me and says "look mom, I caught a lizard." I was amazed, I could never do that, I'm too chicken and they are so quick, she must be quicker. :)

Marshall Graduated!!!

My cousin, Marshall, graduated today from the Sheriff's Academy. A great accomplishment! We had a family party at my mom's house to celebrate, yummy food (turkey burgers, and my favorite potato salad, watermelon, veggies and chips) and swimming!

UH OH! Ashton got busted! :)

Amanda's JR

Chloe!!!

My cousin, Amanda, is in town with her 2 kids so this last Tuesday me and my kids and Sophi and her boys went and spent the day at Aunt Ruthie's house. Aunt Ruthie's house is so much fun. She has cats, kittens, dogs, horses, dirt. My kids love going there to play and I love to visit. Sierra loved the kitties. She was in the garage playing with the kitties most of the time. She would bring one in the house occasionally to show me. Sierra has been wanting a dog for a long time and I have been very hesitant. Dogs are alot of work. I grew up with cats and I know they are not a lot of work. We were in Utah and my step-sister, Trina, got a brand new kitten and it was so sweet. Sierra fell in love and from that moment on she wanted a kitty, I told her I would much rather have a kitty but she needed to convince her dad. He said he might be okay with a kitty. While we were at Aunt Ruthie's house Sierra was loving "Panther". She said "mom, he was following me around the garage." We came home and talked to daddy and he agreed that we could get "Panther". Yesterday we went to Granny's to make applesauce and Aunt Ruthie came over in the afternoon. Sierra told her that mom and dad had said that she could take home "Panther". Aunt Ruthie said "okay we will bring him over in the morning." This morning I watched Amanda's kids so they could all go to Marshall's Sheriff's Academy Graduation and they brought the kitty with them. Sierra changed her name to Chloe, which I think is adorable! :) She is 3 months old but she is still so little and we just love her. She is so sweet and so good with the kids. Yesterday we went to Petsmart and got all the necessities and my favorite thing we got her was her "BLING".

ICE BLOCKING with the Young Women!

Tonight was my first activity with the Young Women...it was so much fun!!! We went Ice Blocking and Brenda got about 10 or 12 blocks of ice and towels and scoped out the area. We just followed her...Kathie made delicious cookies and brought milk for afterwards. Sierra went down the hill about 3 or 4 times, she was so cute! Sarah was helping her...so nice! The girls are so cute with my kids! Ashton wanted to go down but was nervous. He didn't go very fast down the hill. He kept hitting a knob in the grass and he would stop or he would put his feet down. I moved his block closer to the bottom of the hill and I was pushing his block and kicking it with my feet but it still kept getting stuck. Finally he moved slowly down 1/2 of the hill...that's good, I didn't necessarily want him flying down the hill. On the other hand I sat on a block and took off. I was going so fast. I was screaming and when I hit the bottom my block just stopped and I flew off and like somersaulted onto the ground. SO FUNNY! I only went down once! :)

We put our feet in the water after Ice Blocking but some of the girl's and my kids were going in a little to far. In front of the girl's there is a sign, it says NO SWIMMING. The kids weren't "swimming" but some were in up to their thighs and the lifeguard across the lake got on his loud speaker and said "the water is off limits, please get out of the water". Who knows why but all the kids listened very well and got out immediately. Our fun was over for the night and it was time to go...until next time!

Award Banquet!

GO WAVE!!!
Valencia Hills WAVE won the Championship yesterday, the last time we took home the Championship was in 1990, it's been 19 years!!! That is something to be proud of!!!

These are the 7-8 Girl's

Sierra wasn't even feeling good today. She has a fever. But we had to go get her trophy! Great job this season, Sierra!

Where's Ashton?

I was on the computer this afternoon, BIG SURPRISE :), and I went to check on my kids. Sierra was out in the Family Room watching a church movie and I asked "where's Ashton?" She said "I don't know." I quickly went to his room and this is where I found him...

Championship Swim Meet!

Sierra swam in her Championship Meet today! She swam great! She swam in a Freestyle Relay. She swam Breast Stroke in the Medley Relay and her relay team broke the League Record which had been previously held since 1984. She swam Individual Breast Stroke and got a close 2nd place, it was a great race. She also swam Individual Freestyle and got First Place, on the sheet I noticed that Sierra was swimming against 4 other girls and all the girls had faster times then her. She improved her time so much that she beat all of them. WOW!
Aunt Leanne and Marne were in town this weekend and came to Sierra's meet, so fun to have so much family there! Grammy, Nana and Papa came too (had to document, I don't have pictures to prove it) :)
Sierra swimming Breast Stroke in the Medley Relay!

Every year they have a Parent Relay, we make up a team of 4 Mom's and we each swim 1 lap of Freestyle. They have a Dad's team too. I got to swim and I had so much FUN!!!

We had a really close race between us and one other team. We won Second Place, a close Second.
