Fire House!!!

Last Sunday, December 14, 2008 we got to go to the Fire House where Chase works. He finished his probation and we were all invited to eat dinner with him to celebrate and enjoy the excitement of being in the Fire House.

They got a call while we were there and it was very exciting!!!

Here we were watching them come back. We were actually outside shooting the fire hose when they got the call, we were bummed that we missed that, so we enjoyed watching them return.

and really got into it, especially Shane! :)

Mission Accomplished!!!

Thanks to Megan and Rochelle I made the most delicious Rice Krispi treats of my life, and I like Rice Krispi treats but these were the best ever.

Recipe:

First, make Rice Krispi's.

Melt 1 stick of butter. Add 2 bags of small marshmellows and melt. Add 10 cups of Rice Krispi's and stir. Push into a 9x13 pan (you want them to be thick).

Next melt 1 pound of carmel in the microwave and stir frequently. Layer on top of Krispi's.

Let cool and then cut each one into a small square.

Melt chocolate chips about 1 1/2 bags. Megan suggested using Ghiradelli choco. chips and yes it is delish. I used one bag of Ghiradelli and 1/2 bag of regular choco chips. I used a double boiler to melt the chips however Megan used the microwave and stirred frequently.

Dip each square into the chocolate (about 1/2 of the bottom of the Krispi) and place on wax paper.

WALA!!! My mom says they are her new favorite sweet. AJ said "these are the best thing ever". Jake said "so good, taste like a candy bar". Tay said "mmmmmmm, good mom!"

I had extra chocolate and I had small stick pretzels so I dipped each pretzel 1/2 way and let those cool too. Yummy extra treat. AJ was chowing those like there was no tomorrow. :)

He had chocolate all over his face. :)

Funny Boy!

Yesterday me and AJ went to Costco to pick up our Christmas cards. We were waiting by the photo counter and AJ said "wait, isn't this the place that has food" I said "yes, this place has food" and he said "oh, good cause I'm toe tarving". Mind you we had just eaten breakfast about 9:15 and made it there at 10:04. My child is always hungry, and we were walking around and they had no venders there at that time of the morning. He actually made it through our whole shopping trip with no food. :)
By the way, if you want to go to Costco at this time of year I suggest you go when they open. There was so much parking open and when I was leaving about 10:40 there were lots of people waiting for spots.
