Letter S Week

I have been slacking a little bit, which I knew was going to happen so I am not being to hard on myself. One of my families that I babysit for have not been around for the last 3 weeks (their Grandma and Grandpa came to stay for the 3 weeks so they are helping and taking care of their kiddos) so Ashton and I have had a little more freedom. It is easier for us to do all of our letter of the week activities when we are babysitting and virtually stuck at home because it gives us fun things to do and we learn at the same time. We have been working on the Letter S for the last 2 weeks. We have been having tons of fun!! We played "s"occer. Played in the "s"and. We went to Aunt "S"ophi's house and made a "S"crap Masterpiece. We practiced writing the letter S with dry erase markers on our S template placed in our plastic sheet cover. We talked about "s" words, ex. spooky, scary, stop, strawberry. Ashton says "-pooky, -cary, -top,
-trawberry". He is so cute!

We watched "S"pongebob "S"quarepants.

Lincoln was over and we made "s"nakes with our leftover Valentine Playdough (still so soft and fun to play with).

We made a "s"kunk with a template from http://www.dltk-teach.com/ and a toilet paper roll. Ashton calls it a "-kunk".
Look at that tongue! How cute!!! He was totally concentrating cutting out his Ss with his "s"cissors.
We then glued the Ss on constuction paper and painted with "s"tring.

Rainbow!

Last Wednesday we had our scouts over for our den meeting and Jake took them outside to see our Turkey Vultures and happened to be able to show them this beautiful rainbow too. We have had a lot of rain and I kept hearing of people seeing rainbows but we had not seen one yet, so I was happy we finally saw a rainbow.

Sierra taught our FHE lesson last night and as usual she did a fantastic job. She read a verse of scripture in Moses about "Man should not be alone" and then we played a game called Sticking Together that she learned at Activity Days. She folded up a piece of tape and put it on each of our noses. Then we started out with a partner and touched noses to see who got both pieces of tape and then whoever got both pieces of tape then partners up with the other person that got both pieces of tape and touch noses to see who would get all four pieces of tape, whoever got all the tape on their nose wins. It was so much fun, we played it twice and we were all laughing and having a great time.

On the second round we put the tape on our foreheads instead of our noses...
and Jake won!!!

Activity Days!

Sierra had her first Activity Day's activity yesterday. I used to serve in that calling as Activity Day Leader and I can't believe my little girl is old enough to attend. She had tons of fun! She was telling me all about it afterwards. They learned a few new games to play with our family. She is excited to teach a FHE lesson and then play one of her new games. She learned a new sock game-everyone has socks on and each person tries to take the other persons socks off, the last person that still has his or her socks on is the winner. Also a tape on the nose game, she'll have to remind me how to play that. She is so cute!!!

Last night I asked Sierra to read her brother a bedtime story so she crawled in bed with him and read to him and then tucked him in. How sweet is that!!!!

Cutest Prayers!

Ashton says the cutest prayers! He always asks "how does it start?"
"Dear Heavly Father,

Butt Loops!

This morning I have my nephew, Lincoln, here and he and Ashton were in Ashton's room and they both had swords.
Ashton: "Lincoln just put it in your butt loop."
Lincoln: "I don't have any butt loops, see."
A: "Oh, you don't have any butt loops."
L: "Yeah!"

Who needs a trampoline!

Sierra got a new mattress for her birthday from her Grammy and Grammpy. She wasn't thrilled when she found out that is what she was getting but she really needed it and she does love it. The next morning I asked her "how did you sleep?" She said, "I slept sooo good mom!" So, we put her old mattress outside on the grass and the kids had so much fun jumping on it. Who needs a trampoline!
