Scout Triathlon!

This morning I participated in my first triathlon. My mom and I made a team. I swam, mom rode the bike and then I ran. We did it with sister Sophi, cousin James, cousin Marshall, cousin Sam and Uncle Randy and all the scouts. Sam swam on a team of scouts, Sophi swam for Marshall and Uncle Randy's team and then did the whole thing and cousin James did the whole thing. Sophi, Marshall and Uncle Randy's team won first place for the adult teams, THEY ROCK!!! They all got $10 gift cards to IN 'N OUT. I'm so glad I did it, it was challenging and so much fun, a great experience! I was nervous to do it with all these young boy's but they were all so cute and they all did so well. Wonderful and amazing to see them do something so great for themselves. When I was running there were many of these kids who would say "good job" and give high fives. Such a great experience, such great kids, FUN, FUN, FUN!

No time to blog...

My life feels totally out of control right now and I want to journal our events of each day but I'm having a hard time finding time, and I only have 2 kids. I am sitting now because my kids went with Grammy to Lincoln's Primary Talent Show. I didn't go because I needed to give my hubby a ride back to the Hart Football Game. I'm training for the swimming leg in the Magic Mountain Man and therefore am exercising and swimming like a crazy person, great but so tired and takes alot of time and getting up super early. Jake is helping alot with a friend's campaign who is running for Hart School Board, VOTE for Bob Jensen. He is also still playing Softball two nights a week. Tuesday night Jake and I went to Sierra's Back to School Night. This week I worked in Ashton's class on Wed., so fun to see him and watch him at school, play in the sand, sing the songs, do all the fun activities, he loved having mommy there and stuck by my side a lot but played too. Wed. afternoon went to the Fire Station. Wed. night went to Enrichment at church and had a great time with all the women and got some great info too. Ashton and I went to Sierra's school on Thursday and did Lunch Duty. Fun to be there and see her in her element but it was a lot of work. Ashton was a trooper and helped alot, he sprayed tables and then I wiped them off. He sat with Sierra and her friends during their lunch time and ate his goldfish. We walked with me back and forth twice to Maui Waui to fill up a huge thing of water for the kids to drink because Sparklett's had not delivered water yet. The lunch people who Cater at her school gave him a whole tray of food for his lunch, so nice. It was Italian buffet and when we were all done cleaning up she gave me two Calzone's to take home and a box of salad. I checked off kids names who were buying, I got a taste of what Janelle does everyday. We were there working for 3 hours. we have to do this every other week. Air conditioner broke yesterday, luckily got fixed today. Made and dropped off these delicious bars that we donated to Sierra's school for a Bake Sale Fundraiser that they are having at Lombardi's on Sunday. Went to Shane's football game tonight. Sierra has piano and gymnastics to throw in the week too. Life is crazy, Life is good, I just need to be organized and write everything down. I think I hit all the important things, until next time!

Made this SO delicious soup on Thursday in the crockpot because we go from school to gymnastics to the gym and don't get home until 6:30pm. I will post the recipe on our Recipe Blog, For the Love of Good Food because you are going to want to make this one, Sierra took it to school today in this thermos and said it was so fun to eat soup at school.

These are the "Special K" Bars that I donated to Sierra's school and they are OH SO DELICIOUS too!! I made these last week for our YM YW after flag football treat and I decided to make them again for our fundraiser because they are that good! I will post this recipe on the Recipe Blog too.
Now I need to go read or go to sleep! I'm tired! :)

Fire Station 73!

This afternoon for den meeting Jake had arranged a tour of one of our Fire Stations in our valley, Station 73. We of course had to join the scouts, the Fire Stations are so awesome!

Sitting in the BIG firetruck...
Ashton was sure to wear his tie so he could be like the cubscouts with their neckties...

Ashton really needed to sit in the Fireman Tanker Water truck...he kept asking me if he could and he was the only one who got to, pretty cool!!!

Sierra said that it was all SO heavy!!!

This part was so cool, this fireman put all of the gear on and was even breathing the oxygen from the oxygen tank!

Such a fun outing, lucky that we could tag along with Daddy!

More Birthday Celebrations!

Last Friday we brought a special treat to Ashton's school for his birthday. He wanted to bring Chocolate Chip Cookies. Ms. Jan got him a crown right away, Ashton chose the gold one.

Then he got to sit in the special chair and they sang to him...

he made a wish...

and then they gave him 5 pretend birthday spankin's! :)

Last night we had a birthday celebration for Ashton with our family. Ashton wanted to go to Red Lobster for his birthday dinner, he loves shrimp and saw a few commercials for Red Lobster and saw all the shrimp on TV and decided that is where he wants to go to have shrimp for his Birthday, so we invited all the family and whoever could make it came and we all enjoyed each others company and good food.Ashton had to wear his new church coat that Grammy just got him for his birthday, he looks pretty sharp!

The lobster tank was pretty awesome!

Even more awesome was when the guy came over and took a lobster out for the kids to touch and he was telling them facts about lobsters...

and then he said "watch this, lobster's are ticklish, goochi, goochi, goo" and that lobster started wiggling around and flapping his tail. Very entertaining!

Nana and Papa, Sierra, Aunt Sophi, Uncle Rich and Lincoln and Rocky with Ashton

Daddy, Uncle Shane, Grammpy and Grammy and Aunt Jacque with Ashton

These boy's were having a little to much fun! :)

Right when we sat down Lincoln said really loud, "I want mac and cheese!" So Ashton says, "I want mac and cheese too!" I said to Ashton "I don't think so, we came here because you wanted shrimp for your birthday!" Well, he did get shrimp and french fries and Lincoln had some too and Lincoln shared some of his mac and cheese and broccoli. So nice and the Birthday boy got just what he wanted. :)

Ashton wanted a Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting and he wanted a race car cake just like Lincoln, don't judge I did my best! Ashton loved it and that is all that matters! Sophi made a way cuter cake, she always does, she's very talented! Ashton's cake tasted delicious!!! I made homemade Ghirardelli frosting and OH MY GOODNESS!!!! SO GOOD, my dad came over tonight and told me that was the best chocolate cake he has ever had! What a compliment!

He is so cute, we are singing to him...

"Present time!" Ashton exclaimed :) Jake built a fire in his fire pit and we all enjoyed eating and visiting outside on a nice summer evening.

Rocky loves his "Auntie Sessa!"

Even Speed Racer came to Ashton's Birthday party!
That is one cute Race car Driver!!!
Happy Birthday Ashton!!!

New Port Beach!

Went to New Port with my dad just as we have the privilege of doing every year, this time we just made it a weekend trip. Dad, Tori, Nate, Trina, Sophi, Rich and kids and of course Briana, Brett and kids because they get to live there, so lucky!!! We got there on Friday and went to Fashion Island and ate dinner at the food court, so awesome we all got exactly what we wanted, the kids:orange chicken and noodles, me:yummy fish tacos, Jake:a cheeseburger. Saturday we went to the beach, Montage beach to be exact and we had such a great day. There are Tide Pools which the kids love and waves but not to huge. I went in the water with my kids and we had such a great time, Ashton on my back and Sierra hanging on my arm because the sand dropped and neither of them could touch even though we weren't very far out. Saturday night we all went to the spa and Nate was throwing Nixon and Ashton around in the pool, they were having so much fun and wanted to do it again and again. Sunday we packed up and then we went to Brett and Briana's and ate lunch and cake and celebrated Ashton and Nixon's birthday. We went swimming too! So fun, such a great day!!! Brett and Briana's to CELEBRATE!!!

The infamous finger in the nose, once again! :)

Brett and Briana took Nixon to the grocery store the night before and let him pick out whatever he wanted, then they went home and decorated a cake and cupcakes, they even decorated a special one for Ashton, so nice! Nixon picked out strawberry cake and Briana put whipped cream for the center and cream cheese frosting and it was so good!!!

Sierra sure was enjoying her sherbet!

I just love this face, so sweet, so cute!!! He was loving the m&m's!!!!

Drove home and then went to mom's for dinner and then she made Rice Krispi treats and stuck and #5 candle in it and we all sang to Ashton again! :)

Eating Grammy's ice cream, they love Grammy's house, she always has ice cream for them!!!
