24 hours

WE DID IT! The Young Women and leaders read the Book of Mormon in 24 hours. We started at 5 on Friday evening and ended at 5 on Sat. evening. We had to skip a few chapters to make it and will have to read those on our own but it was a great experience, IT WAS HARD! But a great experience! Different readers came throughout the 24 hours and that mixed it up and made it more interesting. My mom and Chris and even Shane came in the wee hours of the am. Nate came the next day as Jesus and read in 3rd Nephi Ch. 11 when Christ came and spoke, I narrated. I only got about 20 minutes of sleep in the whole 24 hours. :)

It was powerful looking at the room full of girls with their scriptures open. At about 4:30 pm on Sat. the Bishop came and the tone of the room changed. The Spirit came and it was my favorite part. After Moroni (Stan Edwards) came and read Ch. 10. The Bishop asked each of us to say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father if this book is true. POWERFUL! Then Sister Edwards bore her testimony of the Book of Mormon and then the Bishop bore his testimony of the Book of Mormon. The spirit was so STRONG! We sang the Spirit of God and then prayed. The last few hours were hard but I loved spending the time with the girls and reading the Book of Mormon.

PIZZAS, PIZZAS, PIZZAS

I have to say that this morning was Ashton's 2nd T-ball game and of course it was so cute! I got to watch him play outfield once and then hit the ball once and then I had to leave because...Today was our Young Women Pizza Fundraiser for Girl's Camp and I was so impressed with all of our Young Women. They worked so hard for hours making about 300 pizzas. I was there from 11:00am until 5:00pm. The girls were there from about 12:00pm until about 4 or 5:00pm. I was helping with quality control, making sure that the pizzas looked good before sending them to wrapping. Such a long day, so tired when I got home but it was so fun to be with the girls. We have great Young Women! I also work with such GREAT leaders, Kathy Arbuckle=AMAZING! Brenda and Jennie=AMAZING TOO! We also had parents there helping and Sister Knecht, so wonderful! All I can say is...WOW!
These girls were making Ham/Pineapple Pizzas and they were cranking them out.
Some of our wrapping crew, they did such a great job!

Look at all these cute girls! :)
How could you not LOVE being with them! :)

New Beginnings

Tonight was New Beginnings for Young Women's. The theme was Personal Progress...the GOLDEN Opportunity! Emma Aldridge (a beehive) planned the whole evening and did a fantastic job. I had to take my kids because Jake was playing softball. Ashton was a crazy man and having tons of fun with the other boy's there. Sierra was everyone's helper. She was helping put food out, she was helping Sis. George put the YW room back together for seminary the next morning. She helped to clean up and put chairs away. She told me she can't wait to do Personal Progress and to be in Young Women's. I know she will love Young Women's but I'm not ready for her to be there yet. She needs to be little a few more years for her mother's sake! :)

Light Painting...

Tonight I had the privilege of taking pictures of the Mia Maid's Light Painting. Bro. Brad Smith taught me how to set up my camera. I had half the girls and Bro. Smith took pics for the other half. It was so fun! The girl's were so clever! Here are a few...

ICE BLOCKING with the Young Women!

Tonight was my first activity with the Young Women...it was so much fun!!! We went Ice Blocking and Brenda got about 10 or 12 blocks of ice and towels and scoped out the area. We just followed her...Kathie made delicious cookies and brought milk for afterwards. Sierra went down the hill about 3 or 4 times, she was so cute! Sarah was helping her...so nice! The girls are so cute with my kids! Ashton wanted to go down but was nervous. He didn't go very fast down the hill. He kept hitting a knob in the grass and he would stop or he would put his feet down. I moved his block closer to the bottom of the hill and I was pushing his block and kicking it with my feet but it still kept getting stuck. Finally he moved slowly down 1/2 of the hill...that's good, I didn't necessarily want him flying down the hill. On the other hand I sat on a block and took off. I was going so fast. I was screaming and when I hit the bottom my block just stopped and I flew off and like somersaulted onto the ground. SO FUNNY! I only went down once! :)

We put our feet in the water after Ice Blocking but some of the girl's and my kids were going in a little to far. In front of the girl's there is a sign, it says NO SWIMMING. The kids weren't "swimming" but some were in up to their thighs and the lifeguard across the lake got on his loud speaker and said "the water is off limits, please get out of the water". Who knows why but all the kids listened very well and got out immediately. Our fun was over for the night and it was time to go...until next time!
