Happy Birthday Ashton!

7 years ago a little boy took the other half of my heart and still holds it in his precious hands. He was sent to me straight from our Heavenly Father's care for me to love him and care for him. I have cherished this role as his mommy. He is a good boy, always striving to do what's right. He LOVES all things BOY! He loves dinosaurs, racecars, big trucks, army guys, video games, anything with a ball; baseball, basketball, kickball, gaga pit at school, tetherball, swimming, the beach. He is in First Grade. I adore him!
Favorite things: food;mac and cheese, color;black, animal;wolf, toy;dinosaurs, sport;baseball, treat;peanut butter chocolate brownies, thing to do at school;play gaga, fav thing to do;play with my family with dinosaurs, favorite place;jungle.
On the menu for breakfast: Breakfast Burrito From Daddy: Baseball bag, bat and ball :)From Family: a Nintendo 3DS :) Look at that smile!Peaches and Whipped Cream to share at school! Then we were off to Chili's for dinner. Ashton got mac and cheese and corn. Then, we enjoyed the delish peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes that me and my kids made. SO GOOD! From ourbestbites.com

Another dessert for the birthday boy!

When we got home we got out his baby book and looked at all his ultrasound pictures and birth pictures. At 8:59, I grabbed him and hugged him and held him and said "Happy Birthday!" Daddy came and took him away from me and was hugging him too and said "Happy Birthday!" and he said, "why did you take me away from my mommy!" Daddy said, "because your mine too!" :)
Happy Birthday my little man! Here's to many more! and REMEMBER...Mommy loves you!

Ashton's almost 7 and...

he's already grown a moustache.
Friday he got a new bike. Him and I have already been on 2 bike rides.

Saturday we went on a hike, Towsley Canyon.

Grammy, Grandpa and Grandma joined us.

Grammy and Ashton ran part of it, Ashton's such a good runner.

Then we sang Happy Birthday, blew out a candle and enjoyed a brownie.

Tonight we had Grammy over for dinner. Then, SURPRISE, Bergener's were on their way home from being at Monte and Amanda's in Northern Cali and stopped to eat dinner with us. We had to hurry and think of something so I pulled cookies out of the freezer and we sang Happy Birthday to Nixon and Ashton. They share a birthday (on Tuesday)! :)

Celebrations have begun and we're not done yet! :)

A usual occurance

Kitty has been attacking our feet at night. It has been so stinkin' hot that we only sleep with a sheet on and she attacks and it hurts. So...
we lock her up in the bathroom and she seems to like the sink. :)

Ashton is doing MUCH better. Now has a cough and raspy voice but we can handle that. So far no more throw up or fever and he's actually moving where for a few days now he has only wanted to cuddle with mommy and not move and sleep a ton.

Don't come close...

Ashton is puking and it is just the pits...thank heaven Sierra hasn't picked it up and hopefully she won't. Learning about sleep in my Psych class, fascinating.

Discovering the trick

Today was MUCH better. After a long weekend I was nervous taking my kids to school but...the trick is to go early. Then Ashton gets busy playing GaGa and I tell him I will go put his backpack in his cubby and then I'm going. He was ok with that. There we go. So for tomorrow I have started laying out what will go in their lunches. Water bottles are full and in the fridge, celery in baggies and in the fridge, fruit strip and oranges on the counter. We are ready so our morning will hopefully go much faster and we can get there early again tomorrow. YAY! Here's to many more happy mornings!

Whew! Trying to catch up, no time!

Me, I started back to school on Aug. 23. I'm only taking one class but with everything else, it's perfect for me. On Aug. 25th I officially got into Psych 101, the instructor was looking at the roster and asked who was here that was not officially in the class, I raised my hand and said that I was on the waitlist. Another guy raised his hand too and said the same. She responded, "I am going to add you to the class and I will tell you why...you are here and you are ON TIME." YAY! Wierd for me to be back in college, I'm older than all these kids, WIERD! I love it though, so fanscinating and only being in one class allows me to just focus on the one subject as well as still focusing on my family and home and assisting my mom in Real Estate. After I went to my class on Aug. 25th I went home to relieve Grandma cause school hadn't started yet for my kids. Then we finished packing up the car because we were going to go camping at the beach. My family was already there and we were joining them but...we had to wait until we went to Meet the Teacher night at school. We jammed over there at 5 and Sierra was pleasantly surprised to see she got Ms. Navarro again and her best friend was going to be in her class. YAY! Ashton was OK, he got a new teacher, she seemed nice and that's good. Then we drove to the beach and had some dinner with the family and smores too...my brother and Brenna's dad helped me set up our tent cause Jake stayed home to work.

It was Uncle Rich's birthday so we had dutch oven chocolate cake and sang to him!

My kids were so excited to be there. When we first got there they ate a little bit of dinner, it was hotdogs and a nacho mixture in the dutch oven that we ate with chips, OMGolly SO DELISH!!!! ran out to the beach and asked if they could get in the water with their clothes on, I said SURE! :) We got jammies on and then brushed teeth and then we went out to the beach in the dark. SO MUCH FUN! Came back to the campsite and got in our tent and read stories with the flashlight and Sierra wrote in her blessings book.
Next morning Sophi made a delicious dutch oven omelete, so good!!! Then we cleaned up camp (camping for one night, TOTALLY WORTH IT!) and then we went to the beach for the day. Beautiful in the morning and then the clouds rolled in...didn't care, we stayed anyway. Sophi had to leave to get back for soccer practice but Brenna stayed with us. It even sprinkled on us.
Aunt Brenna helped the kids make the Carpinteria Temple.:)

and then we got Fosters Freeze on the way home.
August 28th was my husband's birthday!!! My mom had our camera in Orange County so I didn't get a picture of him, SAD! :( But, I wanted him to know that I love him with all my heart! He is my world!! He is so supportive and I know he loves me because he tells me and shows me and takes such great care of me! I love you Jake!!! Happy Birthday!

Then a sad day! My kids started school. We were all ready to start school but we still don't like it! Sierra was great when we first got there she went upstairs all by herself. Ashton was a little iffy. He cried a little when I left but was ok. The 2nd day was a different story. He was hysterical. I took him outside cause he felt like he was going to throw up. His teacher from last year was so great cause she saw him having a really hard time and asked if she could sit with him so I could leave. I left and got in my car and cried and cried and called Jake and cried some more and then got to work and cried some more. A couple of hours later his teacher called me and left a message cause I was in the bathroom and said he was really upset and maybe it would help if he talked to me, I don't think so. The yard duty took his upstairs to see his sister and that seemed to help. I called Jake and asked him to go have lunch with him cause I had class. He did and told me that Ashton seemed to be doing fine. I went to school when I got out of my class so I was early and he was ok just really tired. A long day for these big 1st graders.
Sierra is still doing great! Loving 5th grade, loving her friends and her teacher, loving school. 3rd for Ashton, a few tears in the morning but definately better. My mom, Rocky and I went and had lunch with him and he did great and when we left he was great! I went back early again just to be with him. Day 4, better, a few tears again but better! Jake had lunch with him and I went early. Day 5, GREAT! no tears! Went early and helped in his class for a couple of hours and then we left cause it was our short day. Sierra got to go to the beach with her friend, Chloe and we went bowling with Soph and her boys. Ashton had tears there too but only because he is so DANG competitive.

What a week, but we survived!

Hopefully I can keep up on this blog, we shall see!
