Ashton's first field trip...

Yesterday K-1 went to Faulkner Farm. Ashton said to me, "this is my first field trip." Well, he went on some in preschool but this WAS his first at his big boy school.

What a great day we had together...I was so thrilled that we were not going to Lombardi's. Falkner Farm was similar to Lombardi's but DIFFERENT. I like Lombardi's, don't get me wrong, I have just been on 1 to many field trips there.
This is my Ashton with his new best friend Carson (they have really clicked) and Emily.

The class with Mrs. Curtis on top of the hay pyramid.

The hay maze was super fun, Ashton went through it once and then came back for me and we went through together. :)

The sun was brutal in this picture but we had to take a picture together on the tractor trailer that took us on our tour.

These pumpkins were huge and so fun to sit on. :)

Ashton is not a huge fan of the petting zoo but he got to see baby ducks and baby chickies. :) That was fun!

Lastly, he got to pick a pumpkin. The highlight!

Thanks Ashton for spending the day with me, what a FUN day!

Halloween deco!

Last Saturday we decorated. I don't like decorating BUT my kids LOVE it!!!! So we decorated.
I have to admit that I am a pain in the neck when it comes to decorating. My kids just want to put it wherever but I WANT the area cleaned first and I HAVE to help. Maybe since I don't like to do it I should just let them.:)
We have the traditional favorites...

Last Tuesday for mutual we decorated graham cracker houses halloween style and my kids got to do it too, THEY LOVED IT!!!
I helped Ashton with his frosting but he did the decorating...

and Sierra decorated hers all by herself, she just needed help with her roof because it kept falling, she did such a good job!

My kids got creative with our Halloween decorations, during Conference they made these foam ghosts...

and then some paper ghosts...

even a monster...

and pumpkins all over the fireplace.

I love the homemade decos all over the house...I know my kids won't always love the decorating like they do now, and be quite so enthusiastic!

An Attitude of Gratitude

I love Conference weekend!!! I love that this morning my daughter turned the tv on to the right channel at 9:00am before we even got to it. Our prophet said today to have an attitude of gratitude and to be grateful for our many blessings and not just look at what we are "lacking". I am so grateful for my husband who works so hard to provide for our family and loves me and our children, I am so grateful for my two beautiful children who make me a better person just being their mom, I am so grateful for our home and all the comforts it provides, I am so grateful for our good health and strength and abilities, I am so grateful for a prophet today and for his council, I am so grateful for my Savior for His example for His atonement for His love!!! I AM GRATEFUL!!

Adventures with Biscuit!

On Friday was pajama day at school and the kids LOVED that! Ashton got picked to take Biscuit home. Fun for Biscuit started right away!
He jumped on the trampoline!

On Saturday he got to go with me and Ashton to Lincoln's soccer game...Lincoln scored a goal right when we got there. His team is really good, they kept scoring on the other team and the other team's coach even threw up her hands and called it quits, WHAT?! Who does that when you're coaching 4 and 5 year old's. Her asst. coach stepped in.

It started raining on us while we were there. We all ran for the trees. :)

Biscuit was here for the pick of our first watermelon!

And he got a good night's rest with Ashton, who has been sleeping in his bed the whole night for the past 2 nights, YAY!!!

#25

Tonight Mendenhall had a great run right down the center, HART 1st down! A lady turned around that was sitting in front of us and said look at all those cute kids, they're all Mendenhall's then she turnes to me and said "is that you?" I shook my head and she gave me a thumb's up and said "he's AWESOME!" He didn't get to play most of the game but when they did put him in he had several plays and we were SO proud! :)Shane's birthday is on Tuesday and my mom had shirts made for the whole clan and cupcakes and we all surprised him down on the field after HART won 30 to 7!

Sierra had no idea Karlie was going to be there, what a FUN surprise!

here is our little Mendenhall, Captain Mendenhall tonight :)

The kids were having so much FUN! They were dancing to the music and running as fast as they could, they were all so sweaty with black feet.

and here he is Luke Harris Mendenhall! I got to hold him for the first time at the football game! :)

Fingers Pointing...

Yesterday was a Disney day with just me and my kids and we had such a nice day however it was kind of a wierd day. First an employee at Mulhulland Madness stopped me and asked pointing to Ashton's arm, "is that in case he gets lost?" I had written my cell # on his arm (with sharpie). I said, "yes" thinking that I am so smart and my Ashton feels better knowing that it is on there (he has our home # memorized but not my cell). He then said "you really should put it on a necklace or bracelet, that could get wet and then rub into his skin and then we can't read it, just a suggestion." I was just looking at him thinking are.you.serious! Keep your opinions to yourself, thankyou! My sister joined me later with her friend Katie and it is always fun to be with my sis! Other incidents happened and I seriously felt like Disney employees were pointing their fingers questioning my ability as a mother or even an aunty. We went into the Baby Center so Briana could change 2 diapers and the older women in there were kind of stuffy. We were all at the back checking things out and we told the boys to use the tiny potty's if they had to go, a woman said "they are to big to use our potties!" I was shooing the kids up to the lobby and the other woman said, "um an adult has to be with the children at all times." Like I was going to leave them up there by themselves to destroy the place. GIVE.ME.A.BREAK! Later we were in Inoventions? (is that what it is called??) and I couldn't see Rossi for a sec and I turned around and said where's Rossi and she says "MAAM!" and points her finger at Rossi. Mind you, it is difficult keeping track of all the kids! But, we were fine! Then when we were going back to the car we got on the tram and I lifted the stroller up onto the tram with no help from anyone and then when we got back Briana said "let them help you!" So I was going to let someone help me but there was no one to the rescue just an employee lady who drove the tram to stand there and criticize me. I had the boy's standing close by because I didn't want to lose anyone and I was getting the stroller down and she kept saying "your going to take out his shoulder, your going to take out his shoulder!" WHO'S SHOULDER, it wasn't anywhere near anyone's shoulder. Then I was going to start rolling the stroller forward and Nixon was right there and she says "UM your son is STUCK!" I rolled it right over Nixon or unlodged it or something, everyone was fine, noone was crying or even an ouch and she said "Oh, not anymore!" SERIOUSLY, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!
Other than that we had some fun! Me and my kids rode in the little old fashioned car that drives up and down Main St. We did that twice. Never done it before and that was fun. Loved being there for Halloween Time. We went on the Pirate Island, never done that either. That was fun. We went on Haunted Mansion and it is our favorite when they decorate it for the holidays. Me and my kids shared a mint sundae at Burrrbank Icecream right before Briana came because it was such a hot day and it was seriously so fun to sit and the 3 of us shared a sundae. In the Inovention place the man needed volunteers for the instruments and Sierra got picked to play the drums and then he was going to pick Ashton for the piano but Ashton wanted to play the drums so Sierra said "I'll switch, I'll play the piano and he can play the drums." Nice girl! The kids went with Briana on Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Ashton kept his eyes open the whole time and told me all about it and my Si had her eyes closed the whole time while singing "I am a Child of God." :)

Sierra drove Rossi and he cried the whole time, Ashton drove Aunt Briana and they are right behind them.

Ashton in his A!
