Hiking...

with my Beehives! We were so privileged to have Sister Peay guide us through Placerita Natural Area. She told us stories and historical facts and pointed out a lot of poison oak. She even showed us a bush, red berry bush, that grows the berries that the coyotes eat. She picked them off and several of the girls tried it. Brenda ate it first and assured us that they are not poisonous. The girls reported that they are not good, very bitter. We had a great time just being together.

My kids got to come too and they were not thrilled about me taking a picture of them. It was getting dark while we were finishing our hike and Ashton was getting really nervous. He was on the verge of tears at one point because he was afraid of coyotes. We saw alot of coyote poop with berries in it so he knew they were around in that area. I comforted him by telling him that there are so many of us that the coyotes would be afraid of us, he was very pleased and smiling when we saw our cars in sight. He jumped right in his seat and shut the door. :)
