whew!

Whoa! It's been a while since I've posted. Life has really thrown us for a loop but hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. :)
I'm not even going to try to back track. So much has been happening and I can't even keep up, I will just mention the most frequent events. With minimal pictures, geez I need to get my act together.
The kids both did their end of the year presentations on Monday. I snapped a picture of Ashton but just got Sierra on video. They both did so great and made Daddy and I proud. :)
Monday the kids also started swim team. Ashton is not thrilled cuz it's hard but, too bad! He also started summer basketball this last week too. Sierra enjoys swimming, good thing. :)

Last day of school was on Friday!! YAHOO!
I'm done with school for the summer too! Won't find out my grade till mid summer. What's up with that! We are going to enjoy and ENJOY the warmth of the summer and the time together!
Sierra went to Sadie H. surprise birthday party last night and Jake and I took Ashton to Chili's. Fun stuff! :)

FALL

Ashton's Presentation of Learning was on Friday. He chose Fall as his favorite season. He had to wear clothes that fit his season and he had to bring something in...he wore a long sleeve shirt, pants and a USC hat cause daddy said "football season is in the Fall." He brought in Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies and he wrote down all the ingredients too.
He was sitting by Charley and when I wanted to take Ashton's picture Charley said "with me too!" :)

The kids swarmed Ashton because of his cookies, it was so funny to watch.
I ran upstairs and got Si so she could come and listen to Ashton's Presentation.

 Daddy came too!
A few days ago, I got the kids from school and Ashton told me that he wrote so good today like "grown up writing!" :) This was the first time that Ashton's assignment in class was to have a rough draft and then a final draft. Look how GREAT his printing is on his Final Draft! :)

Great Job Ashton!!!

Bold

Today was Sierra's Explorer Presentation. She is a bold girl, she researched and presented her project on Brigham Young. She had to make artifacts that represented his motivation, obstacles and impact. She dressed up as a missionary and memorized all of her information. She even showed pictures as she presented. She started off..."Hi my name is Sierra and I'm a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints..."

Presenting to her brother.
She did such a great job! She spoke loud and clear and had everything memorized! I just adore my bold, courageous, little missionary. :)

Sierra's End of the Year Presentation

She did such a great job! She had such enthusiasm! She pretended to throw up and threw some pink flarp. She talked about how she is kind and compassionate and threw kisses out to everyone. She held up pictures of her teachers and had everyone give a round of applause. She was ADORABLE and so animated. Loved every minute! Grammy came to watch her too! :)

Presentations and the Flea Market

This is the Gaga Pit. Ashton loves this game. You cannot touch the ball with your feet or legs. You hit the ball with your hand and try to get another person out by hitting them with the ball in the legs.
Ashton did his presentation today in front of his whole class. WOW! He has made leaps and bounds. He would have NEVER done that at the beginning of this year. He mentioned the Gaga Pit as one of his favorite memories in Kindergarten along with, Fridays because we get to go home early :) (well Sierra does!), computer time, the Pumpkin Patch because he got to take home a pumpkin, the Gentle Barn, going to the Getty and his favorite part of the Getty was sitting under the pink flowers. Good Job buddy!
Daddy even came, that was special! Mommy is always at school but not Daddy! :)

and then we went to the Flea Market. All the kids in 4th grade had to take out a loan from their parents and will pay it back with interest. Then with that money they had to buy supplies from their teachers. Make a product and today they sold their product. Sierra's group made headbands and were one of the first groups to sell out. They made enough to pay back their loan and they made a profit. What a great experience for these kids to learn this concept at such a young age.

Kooky Kids was their shops name so they dressed Kooky. I think they look pretty cute! :)

Ashton's first presentation

K-1 did their first presentations today in the MPR. They each had to choose a community leader and research them. Ashton chose a builder, his PAPA!
In his picture it is Papa and Uncle Rich and they are holding hammers.

1. My Papa has been in the community his whole life, since birth, 1957.
2. My Great Grandpa and Great Great Grandpa were also builders in the Santa Clarita Valley, my Papa is 3rd generation builder.
3. He has been a builder for over 30 years.
4. He has built over 100 custom houses in our community.
5. He has also built a few commercial buildings too.
