The Doctors Office...our 2nd home!

Friday night, Friday FUN night! The kids have been earning smiley faces and each smiley face is worth 2 pts. Ashton cashed in 10 of his points tonight to have a family movie night, a special surprise was...mom pulled out the couch bed! The kids were SO excited! We watched National Treasure 2 on the couch bed and daddy made popcorn. What fun!!!
Saturday we went to Ashton's bball game and he made lots of shots but nothing was going in, we brought donuts for after game snack, not much option when you don't have a snack schedule and someone reminds you by email at 9:30 the night before but we made it work. Went home and Jake and Ashton went on a bike ride while me and Si checked on Leanne's house then at home we worked and cleaned and later got slurpies. When we got home Sierra wanted to make cupcakes, she did! I only helped a tiny bit, she did a great job and they were DELICIOUS! Homemade yellow cake with homemade chocolate frosting! Saturday evening we went down to the pool and swam before dinner. Me and daddy even got in a played...so much fun! Then we went home and cooked up some hotdogs and corn for dinner. Sierra came out after getting jammies on and wrapped a blanket around herself (it was still really warm outside and in our house). I asked her if she was feeling okay. She said her throat was a little sore. Oh no!!! I felt her forehead and yep she was warm. Both of my sisters families just had strep throat. I gave her some advil and watched a little something together and then off to bed. At 6 am she woke me up and said her throat hurt REALLY bad. I felt her again and warm again. I gave her more advil and ice water. Her throat hurt so bad she didn't even want to swallow her spit. She kept spitting in the sink. :P I dropped Jake and Ashton off at church and then took her to the urgent care. The doctor just looked in her throat and said "yep it's strep!"Gave us a prescription, went and picked it up and then home we went. Jake and his friend Miles gave Sierra a blessing after their presidency meeting, so grateful for the Priesthood and for good men who honor it. We had a nice dinner at home, just the 4 of us. I made pot roast, carrots and potatoes.
This morning we went to the doctor again to get Ashton's staples out. Yay, they're out but he still can't swim for 3 days, needs more healing time. Geez. Sierra is feeling much better.
I'm so grateful that overall we are a healthy family and rarely have to go to the doctor.

Stuff

Yesterday evening Jake called and said he was on his way home from golfing. I said, "we were just headed out to go on a bike ride, wanna come?!" He said, "sure!" We of course were excited that daddy was joining us. We got all the bikes out and I went to mom's to borrow a beach cruiser she got at a garage sale. :) It was such a warm evening and we had so much FUN!!! Daddy was the leader and we all followed. Ashton would get stressed if they got to far ahead but I would reassure him that I was with him and I knew my way home. :) The kids kept saying over and over, "this is so much fun...this is fun...mommy, daddy this is so fun!" Made my heart soar! :) I was having so much fun too! Then they said, "it feels like a Friday or a Saturday, not Wednesday!" Apparently you can't have FUN on a Wednesday! :) We rode to Jake's parents house, had a drink, sat and chatted outside and then headed home before it got dark. When we got home the sky was A.MA.ZING! Hot pink, my favorite color! I made strawberry banana smoothies and we drizzled chocolate on top! YUM! Today, ran 6 in the early morning. Had sushi with dad for lunch. Delish! Went and got kiddos from school and even pulled Sierra out too because we were going to stand on the street for the funeral procession for the soldier that was killed. Emotional every time we do it. An amazing experience. So grateful to the men and women that serve our country and fight for our freedom. They truly are HEROS! Went and got Tutti Frutti. Made cinnamon rolls for the surprise baby shower tomorrow for Ashton's teacher. Sierra did her first Pilates DVD and did so great!! She was sweaty and tired. I was impressed! Jumped with the kids on the trampoline! :)

Tutti Frutti

Tonight for our Beehive activity we went on a bike ride from the church to Tutti Frutti and it was so much fun! Full of adventure, the girls did so so great! My chain fell off once but I happened to get it back on not knowing what I was doing. One of the girl's chains fell off too but luckily her dad came along with us and was able to help her get hers back on. One of the girls had a beautiful beach cruiser but had no gears so all the hills were tough but she never walked, AWESOME! The frozen yogurt was so delicious, a yummy treat and then back on our bikes we went and rode back to the church. We had two parents come with us, which I greatly appreciated and 2 of the girls brought friends. We were quite the sight. There was a total of 13 of us cruising to Tutti Frutti! :)

Should we be allowed to have this much fun?

Today I went to a spin class, first one in a while. Came home and of course showered because I was drenched and then grabbed the kids and went to meet Sophi and boys at IHOP. What fun! We all got yummy food and enjoyed! Ashton got a Funny Face and so did Rocky and the Funny Face is a chocolate pancake with whipped cream and chocolate chips and cherries on top. Ashton looks at Rocky's face and then whispers to me, "mom, do I have chocolate all over my face?" So funny :)! He didn't but Rocky did! Then the kids and I got home and hopped on our bikes and rode to the post office to mail some bills :P We rode past the pool and there were people in there so when we got home the kids ran and got their swimsuits on and I took them to the pool so they could swim for the first time since last season. It was so warm today! :)

Watched "The Miracle Worker" and my kids finally heard the story of Helen Keller. Sierra finished Mr. and Mrs. Worm.
Had my dad over for dinner for tacos and we made icecream sundaes.
Loving Spring Break!

Truth Revealed!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
What a fun day! Sierra loved getting dressed in some green and she wore a green St. Patty necklace. Ashton was not wearing any green and I was trying to convince him to wear something else and he didn't want to. I said, "fine you are going to get pinched."
A: but mommy I don't want to get pinched.
Mom: okay then if you don't want to wear the GREEN shirt than put this one on it has green right here.
Why do they have to have such an opinion when it comes to getting dressed?!
The leprechaun's came and turned our milk green. Ashton asked me "Are leprechaun's real?"
Mom: Uh, (shook my head no).
Both kids: Then who turned our milk green, YOU?
Mom:Uh, (shook my head yes).
Later in the day my kids said leprechaun's are real! You lied mom!
What is a mom to do!
Ashton's cousins, Lincoln and Nixon, ride the BMX track and Ashton got to make his first trip there with my sisters and my mom. BOY'S HEAVEN! I am told that he had so so much fun and was covered in dirt :)!!!
While Ashton was off on an adventure Jake, Sierra and I went on our own adventure, a bike ride and it was so so much fun!
Ashton also is having his very first sleepover at our house! His cousin Nixon is sleeping at our house tonight and Ashton is in heaven!
