Lovin'

This last Tuesday we were introduced to our new nephew, oh how we love him!!!

Thursday I met with a nursing coach and am excited about where I'm headed, sometimes you feel a little lost in this whole process. Not so much any more. I'm grateful I was introduced to her and now I have a great resource. I just need to make more nurse friends, :) cause they are the gateway to getting hired. :) I have a while though, I'm just going to focus on each day and getting an A. :)
After school Ashton had his reading assessment, teacher said he has improved a TON, doing great!
Thursday night my mom brought dinner over and Trish came over with Sophi's kids. Sophi was on Catalina Island with Rich Brett and Briana, fun stuff!

Friday my mom brought dinner to the park and we met Norris, Brenna, Marshall and Whitney, James and Cammi, Trish and Sophi's kids. Norris brought his remote control airplane and we had fun watching him fly it around.

Saturday we went to the pet store, grocery store, my dad paid for my car wash :), and the boy's got slurpies. We watched Hugo and it's a little slow but enjoyable.

Today, Happy Mother's Day! My family shows me sweet love and that makes it a great day! I got waffles with homemade jam and strawberries, a banana with peanut butter, my favorite. Sierra cut out a cute paper and taped it to my waterbottle. (They had a hard morning, Ashton spilled milk and broke a glass and Sierra at the last minute wanted to tape the paper on my water bottle. Jake was a little flustered but I was just taking off my toenail polish and laying in bed, reading my scriptures. :)) I had a great morning. :)
Jake had responsibilities at church to pass out cinnamon rolls to all the women. Me and the kids went to CC2 ward to listen to my mom speak. She did such a wonderful job! It was fun to sit with Granny too, she held my hand. :) I'm grateful for my mom and my granny, they are amazing women, give me great advice and are wonderful examples to me and my family. I'm grateful for my beautiful sisters too, who are wonderful women and beautiful mothers.
So many women surround me and buoy me up. My mother-in-law, my sister's in law, my friends. I'm grateful for so many elect women that I can learn from, we can help each other and encourage each other... Motherhood is the greatest job in the world, it is also the hardest. :)
We had lunch at granny's, my mom made lasagna. I LOVE lasagna! We had a great afternoon, love being together!
We had dinner at our house with Terry, Janelle, Travis and Miriam. We got to snuggle sweet baby Scott again! :) and the kids jumped on the trampoline with Melanie, she LOVES the trampoline!
and Melanie LOVES Jake too! :) So cute!
Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Day...

Today was a happy day...Mother's day and Granny's actual birthday! My kids and hubby are so sweet to me...it was a great day!

We went to church and church was so great, great speakers, great lessons. I was in YW's and in comes hubby to serve all of us leaders with a yummy cinnamon roll and strawberries, what a treat! The best part (for the girls) is then the Bishop came in and said all the girls get to have a cinnamon roll and strawberries too! That just made their day! :)
Right after church we went to Granny's for lunch.
Sam performed the bagpipes for us, so COOL!

Granny got a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, she LOVES it! She told us of a story when her kids were little and they weren't going to get a Christmas tree. Her kids were so sad so she said OK we will go but we have to find a tree that only cost $1. So off they went to the Christmas tree farm. They saw the worst looking tree in the place and asked the man if they could buy it for $1. The man said, "oh lady, you don't want that tree, that's a Charlie Brown tree!" She had no idea at this time what that meant. She said "so can we have it for $1?" He said, "I wouldn't sell you that tree!" So Granny said, "you mean we can HAVE it!" He said, "yes, you can have it!" Uncle Bob held the tree out the window the whole way home and when they got home her kids decorated it. She thought it was the most beautiful tree they ever had. From that time on she always would go to the Christmas tree farm and look for the worst tree in the lot. A Charlie Brown tree!

Then we had a performance by Sam, Timmy and Jack on their violins.

We left Granny's and stopped by Terry and Janelle's to say Happy Mother's Day and then we came home and Jake and the kids made me dinner in bed. A BLT with strawberries and I LOVED every minute of it. I finished dinner and stayed in bed and read my book. I felt so spoiled.

and while I was reading I popped open my gift from Sierra and enjoyed. It was a can and the label said "PULL TAB, The contents of this can are to be used purely for the treatment of stress due to motherhood. When feeling such ailments, procure quiet room, lock door, and consume immediately. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!"

Inside were peanut M&M's and pretzel M&M's, 2 of my fav, so yummy!

Sierra also wrote a poem and gave it to me, Jake's mom, my mom, Sophi, Briana and Miriam.
"Mother's Day Poem"

Mother's special day only comes once a year,

For aunts, grammys, grandmas that we hold so dear,

Without them, life would never be complete,

Until the first moment you really meet,

So show them you love them, give them a rose or two,

Then tell them mommy, grandma, auntie...

I LOVE YOU!!

I am grateful to be a mommy!

A Happy Mom's Day

Woke up at 7:20am to the crinkling sound of tape as Sierra was heartattacking our room.
I got breakfast in bed. (I made the waffle batter the night before and my sweet husband cooked them and put fruit on my plate too.) :)
Went on a scavenger hunt.
Found presents, a potted plant that Sierra painted for me and planted a pink flower she made at activity days, a candle that was wrapped up from the shower yesterday :), money :), Sierra's blanket that Grammy made for her a long time ago ("it has hearts on it," she said!) :)
The kids sang Mommy songs to me.
Got to go back to bed and read, my favorite thing to do! :)
Mom stopped by with yummy cinnamon rolls as she was headed to Orange County.

Yesterday for the shower we had this clothesline hung up with onesies and "it's a girl" (heather k. made) and Sierra made me this sign and took down "it's a girl" and put up "We love mommy!" So sweet and so clever! :)
Church was great! I felt the spirit, I learned a new scripture story and I got a pink rose, my favorite color.
Tonight we had Terry, Janelle, Travis and Miriam for dinner.
Terry made a salad.
Miriam made strawberry shortcake.
Jake and I made spaghetti.
A fun evening!
My kids and my hubby made my day GREAT!
I love being a mom!
I love all the mom's in my life! Mom's are great! I love my mom to absolute pieces and appreciate all she does for me! Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mommy's Day!

"Awesome Mom" "Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night. Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom." Author unknown
My mom sent this to me in an email with the cutest baby pictures, I loved it! Thanks mom!
