Growing Pains

Yesterday afternoon AJ kept telling me that his legs hurt. I would ask him "Did you hurt them on something?" He would say "I don't sink so". I said "you want to know why I think they hurt". He said "why". I said "because I think you are growing". "Bigger" he said with excitement!
When daddy came home last night AJ was so excited and the first thing he told him was, "Daddy my legs hurt because I'm growing BIGGER!"
Today I asked him "AJ, do your legs still hurt". He feels them with his hand and says "no". I said "because you grew last night while you were sleeping". He smiled really big. :)

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

My mom's birthday is on January 2nd and we all had dinner at our house. The boy's watched the Utah football game and the girls sat by the fire and visited while the kids played and watched "Horton Hears a Who". Briana and her family surprised my mom and came up here for her party. We had salmon with this most delicious sauce, salad (that I have been making for the girls when we do potluck at the park), asparagus, couscous, orange rolls, homemade Briana rolls, sweet potatoes cut into wedges and roasted with seasoning and olive oil and to finish it off with a bang Sophi made 2 lemon meringue pies and Chris bought a piece of Mother Load from Claim Jumper's. It was all so yummy and we were all so full and sick by the end of the night. :)

AJ blew out the candles while no one was looking so,

we had to light them again!

Everyone helped this time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!! We all wish you many more years filled with happiness! :)

Thanksgiving 2008

On Thanksgiving 2008 we went to Jake's parents house in the afternoon and had dinner with them and then we went about 5:00pm to dinner at my Dad's house. I made rolls for Jake's family and Artichoke Dip and chips for an appetizer at Dad's house. Thanksgiving is always a nice day to just remember all the things you are thankful for and spend time with family.

AJ wanted to be handsome on Thanksgiving.

AJ says "I'm thankful for Jesus".

Tay has Samantha she was borrowing from Aunt Sophi until she got her own American Girl Doll.
Tay says, "I'm thankful for my family".

I'm thankful for some many things...
My Savior, Jesus Christ
My husband, he is my best friend and more!!! I adore him!
My children, they bring so much sunshine and joy to my life!
Our good health!
My husband's job and his desire to provide for his family and take care of us!
Our home and all the comforts and warmth it gives us
Our families and our friends
We truly are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for!

Happy New Year 2009!

On New Year's Eve we had dinner with Jake's family and then we went to a friend's house from church and from there we loaded our kids up and we went home about 11:15pm. AJ had a nap and did not wake up until 5:30pm so we let our kids stay up until midnight! At midnight we toasted apple juice and gave kisses. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Tay was wearing Glow-in-the-dark earrings she got from her cousin, K.

AJ has a pouty lip while I'm kissing him because we started counting down and I squatted down to get ready to toast ("cheers" is what the kids call it) in my PJ pants and they totally ripped right down my leg so AJ was sad because now I would have to throw
my cute froggy pants in the trash. :)

Sierra's Piano Recital

On December 18th 2008 Tay had her 2nd piano recital! She played "Up on the Housetop", "Jingle Bells" and "Away in the Manger". She did a great job!!!

Aunt Miriam is her piano teacher.

AJ wanted to be handsome, with his tie. Cute picture with Grandma.

Griffith Observatory

On December 30th 2008 we went to the Griffith Observatory with Jake's family. Crystal and Hunter were in town and we all made a day of it. Lots of people had the same idea but we saw a few interesting things and then we saw the show in the Planetarium and that is pretty cool. I said to Jake afterwards, "it makes you feel pretty small when you see space and you see that we are only a part of one galaxy and there are millions of different galaxies out there. How could there not be a God, a creator? It's all so amazing!!!"

First, we had a picnic lunch with a beautiful view of The Observatory and LA.

AJ had to have his soda pop. As you can tell by his tongue, he loves soda pop!

The kids were exploring the picnic area.

Downtown LA

We all had to have are picture by the Hollywood sign!

Tay is being "Hollywood", she's modeling.

SO FUN to be with cousins!

AJ had his train belt on that he got for Christmas from his little buddy, Baby B.

Just trying to be safe!

I have followed the ranks of some of my fellow bloggers and started using nicknames for my kids. I know you will be able to figure out who is who. I'm just trying to keep my kids safe in the blogging world. :) I may need to go private but until then I'm using different names.
Happy New Year!!! 2009
