We received the following information from Kymmer Crookston...Sgt. Ian Gelig, 25, of Stevenson Ranch, was killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan on March 1st when his patrol unit was hit by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
We had the privilege of joining many others in lining the streets for the procession this afternoon. What a honor it was to stand and show the family how grateful we are for their son's service!

Such a great opportunity! Such a great experience! So emotional when I saw the faces of his family! So glad our family could take part and we could teach our children that we are honoring a hero who died fighting for our country!

What a great experience. I never heard anything until a half hour before and we were already on the road somewhere. :(.
What a great thing. Nice pictures, Vanessa.
What an amazing, touching thing for the community to do for this family and in honor of their boy. Great post and photos - thanks for sharing :)
